    I was wondering if this idea for pub has been tried before:

    Pub 0 - standard map
    Pub 1 - standard map + leviathans
    Pub 2 - daily different map
    Pub 3 - daily different map + leviathans
    Pubs 4-9 - different maps

    In subgame, you cannot have two publics with different maps. Asss [ircc] has that functionality, but the best we can do with a subgame server is use bots to limit ships or add other new functions/rules.
    People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

      looks to complicated for the averaqe pub player.

      In other words it would put ppl off, also i think it would require some coding wich might be hard or tiresome to do, not to mention there aren't 365 qualtiy maps out there for a year.


      There are some decent base maps that aren't used that often, but its up to the mods and ers to host them more often than to spawn into a strange map.

          It is possible to do that. Infact, there used to be fun weekend only publics with terriers that could hold more turrets or levis that couldn't attach in all publics or with fun "new" nightwasps settings instead of weasels.

            any chance to return to such former glories?

            I've been playing TW since the late 90s and would love to see a dedicated changeup in pub at least once every week that lasts for the week.

            I really like the newer and more complicated base designs with fewer chokepoints, but more places to shoot through - you know, putting the "trench" back in "Trenchwars".

              I think a most awesome revision to pub would be a pub with two smaller bases (top and bottom), a field of astroids and/or creative battlements in between, and team spawn fields quite a distance away top or bottom of their respective bases. The team to capture the flags of both bases would win the round.

              The idea is to force the flow of players through a base they can call their own, a flag they can defend, and form up to meet the enemy in the no-mans land between the bases, terriers being used for quick transport throughout the field of battle.

                oh, and i wasn't thinking about a different daily map for every day of the year. I was thinking about having maybe standard set far less in number (like maybe 3-7), even just having one other map for it to alternate with is better than just the standard we have day in and day out.
