Besides, most people in the lower pubs don't fight in base, atleast not when i play in them..And often the population is so small in lower pubs that it would maybe be like 5 people fighting over the flag.
And timed pubs wouldn't work so well in lower pubs because of the damn LTs.
Maybe they should start to have the timed game on in the second pure pub before they start to make timed games in all pubs and see how that works..Today we may say aloud before an awe-struck world: "We are still masters of our fate.

what's the verdict on purepubs? lol you people talk a lot of shit but dont do anything. Novice runners-of-things (for lack of the proper term) find it difficult to change anything, probably because when something comes up that may be good for the game they post a poll on here, not knowing the type of community that they're dealing with. How many pub players do you think know about the forum and care enough to come here and actually post? That is equivalent to asking football fans to make the rules about the NFL. They vote for what they think would be interesting, not what is good for the game. What is needed is someone or someones who can think about the game overall and make changes based on that. Take zombies for instance. Having it hosted all the time is nice cause people like it, however if you host it less it doesnt make the zone less fun. It makes it more special when those games are played (imagine TWL done several times in a row as soon as each season is done, who would try since they're only champs for so little time?). Player polls are pretty useless because players arent SUPPOSED to think of whats good long term for the game. If incompetent fucks didnt rely on them to do all the forethought for this game we'd be in at least a slightly better position atmI'm just a middle-aged, middle-eastern camel herdin' man
I got a 2 bedroom cave here in North Afghanistan

I have an idea which may cause an uproar with some people but hey it's an idea and I'm going to toss it out there.
So the main problem is that pub in general is degrading. Reason being that the new people don't know what they are doing and there are no experienced players there to show them how.
What I propose is to turn off the some of the automated arenas - Elim, Belim, Base, Wbduel for a set period of time (week/weekend/whatever) thus forcing people back into pubs to play.
Sure there are going to be the elitest people who say "well I just won't play at all then" and that's fine because I believe that enough others from all aspects of the game (dueling, javing, basing) will play in the pub arenas anyways.
Of course it wouldn't be a permanent thing but if there was a noticeable improvement in pubs maybe you could designate a week per month where all of those arenas are turned off so people are playing in pub. If it doesn't work out at all it was just a test anyways so no harm done.

Even though someone shouldn't of revived the thread I just wanted to make the point that regardless of any changes that are made, we need to have someone literally sitting in game, in the pubs, in spec, asking people in private what they think of the settings. Record the data, figure out whether the majority like it or dislike the new change, and how they would fix the change if the majority disliked it. Times changed and maybe the people that use these forums don't properly represent the interests of those that don't use the forums. Not to say that the opinions of forum users should be ignored, all of the input should be used. Not just for timed pubs, but for ship settings and so forth. We have many forum members that post on here and do use the pubs often, but not enough.1:Best> lol why is everyone mad that roiwerk got a big dick stickin out his underwear, it's really attractive :P
3:Best> lol someone is going to sig that
3:Best> see it coming
3:Best> sad

Why not just do it the Trench Wars way, have a greeting message that everyone ignores telling them to go to an arena or the forums and vote on something that only 10% of the playerbase cares about. Because getting enough staffers to copy down private data like that manually would mean they would have to leave ?go base.Rabble Rabble Rabble
