Trench Wars Zone Objectives are up!!! here
Thanks to Riistar for putting them up. :]

I would like to thank Ephemeral for his contribution with the mission statement and TW values. Both pieces are excellently written, however I did a few word changes. Thank you Eph. :]

What this means is that we (Trench Wars Staff) can do, is change the zone accordinally. So if you have an idea, not necessarily just about improving the zone, then contact myself at ?go moot (in-game). Email me at foulrooster@yahoo.com (Signing your TW alias would be helpful too). Via the forum, or PM in-game.

With any changes we do, I idea is that we discuss changes, see if they fit in with our Zone Objectives and move on from there. Not all changes will be discussed in the forums because not everybody hangs around here or views the forums, so I'll be talking to players in the zone too.

I would also like to announce dim (dimboy) as my PR Assistant. He'll be helping me with talking to players about the zone. So if you have any ideas you can contact him in-game or via his email; adam@fusion-media.co.uk

      Thanks,
      Mootland Farmer

They look great moot, a good thing to run all future suggestions by.

One thing though, that's killing me, if you don't mind fixing it... Apostrophes don't make things plural, so it'd be Trench Wars every time instead of Trench War's.

I suppose it is a good thing to have those objectives. Now at least you know what you should be aiming for. I also hope that you will begin to work accordingly, preferably from the inside.

Apostrophes are used only to show possesion.

                  for example

                  Adam's car is very nice
the car of course belonging to Adam.

They're also used for indicating letters that are taken out, such as for contractions, not "only" for indicating possession.

What sort of bullshit is this sub-objective.
It leaves it very ambiguous with no clarification of what sort of leniency in what sort of circumstances. Leaves it wide open for staff and "vet" abuse but being lenient with them cuase they've helped out etc...

If the rules are to be made clear to remove confusion , why allow leniency in some circumstances which will add confusion and perhaps annoy people that some get special treatment.

Seems like leaving the gate to the field of abuse wide open

                        Pressure Drop,
Keep in mind that these are objectives, they are not the actual rules or procedures.
Objectives define what is wanted to be achieved. The actual rules or procedures will define how it is done.

Your questions are good things to think about when people start in on the detailed rules and procedures, but at the objective level they are premature. 'Leniency' could easily be something like cutting some slack to two brothers using the same IP when it appears as double squading. Yes, the rules could go into detail about how to deal with that particular situation, but there is no way that the rules are going to be able to cover everything.

I read the objective as trying to remove as much subjectiveness as possible while trying to maintain some flexability. I think we all agree that having rules that requires a staff to 'interpet' them is a bad thing. But on the other hand, no one will read a rule book that is 700 pages long.

                          point taken

still in my head though i think that the objectives should be more about idealism and say that we want to maintain strict rules on cheaters, leaving out the leniancy part. You could add the leniancy and exeptions in the rules or by a kangaroo court off high up staff which everyone will bitch about for a few weeks after as execptional cases arise.

guess its just me thinking that our objectives shouldn't include leniancy on cheaters, rather that the leniancy is needed due to no set off rules being airtight

but i'm a pretty uptight irrate type off fellow who is also idealist

maybe a message telling people to press F1 for controls help when people enter pub would be a very good idea.

"-To continue to provide the players of Trench Wars, with exciting and varied hosted events. Popular events are expected to be hosted often, but not to the point where they are over hosted and lose their enjoyment. Events are also to be hosted accordingly to the population in the one at that time. EG: Zombies would be good with 400+ players online"

does that exclude ?go base, ?go elim, ?go tourny and no levis allowed in pubs at all when there is only 2 pubs open (especially europe daytime) or is that a permanent mistake of staff forgetting there are people who want to have a real pub and this objective?
