The quality of play drops to depressing levels when the game is advertised zonewide. Players quickly lose interest as games where there's more than 5 per team turn into a decoy/repel/bomb/spawnkilling nightmare. The new players don't learn how to play properly and the regulars just hope people will start leaving.

We're slowly accruing new players by word of mouth. New players pop in every now and then and are able to learn the game in not such an in your face manner. It works best just to have speedball be one of your chats.

Not only are you making your judgement off of one game, you should be giving it more than one chance because it is a swell game, but you are partially contradicting what Suff said. He spent a few WEEKS playing strikeball, I mean if he still doesn't enjoy the fast paced orgasmic enjoyment that most get from strikeball, that's his prerogative. But you only played one game, you fuck.

There were def some good games that I played with other ppl, but 1v1-3v3 is not as fun as 4v4+ (as in not even worth playing). I played semi-hardcore for like 3 weeks maybe ... prob more like 2.5 weeks, and I only experienced maybe 3 good, fun, and even games.

It would be wrong to have a thread about a game where everything is positive, and the game isn't as awesome as all of you make it sound like.

A small group of people plays it which means -> only known people will get picked, unless they seriously lack people for a game.

It takes some time to get into the game as you say, but how are you supposed to get into the game when you are completely new to it, and people won't pick you cause you suck?

Fast paced? I'd rather do a basing or dueling game. Maybe it's fast paced compared to javs.

Most of the time there are no hosted matches so new people can just jump in and play without having to be chosen by skill. I believe that people say it sucks because either they don't win or they are getting owned. If that's the case then I suggest that you play more and heighten your skills. It's not that hard and it's fun to play. I personally enjoy the smaller games because it focuses more on teamwork rather than luck and skill.
