Question 1:

When can i play sum zombiez plzzzzzzzzz?

Zombies has been banned during the following days:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Zombies is allowed during the following days:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday




Question 2:

OMFG, is this thing like forever?

No, it is not forever. It is until we get more diverse events from hosts and up the number of hosts. I am sure you guys would like to play OTHER games and try new experiences. Imagine if this zombie marathon continued for 3 years straight. You would become a zombie also. We, for the better of the zone, feel it's best to change things up once in a while. This ban on zombies during weekdays will not be forever, but it will give you guys some time to breath and appreciate zombies when it does comeback in the nearby future.
After the ban is lifted, we will most likely place restrictions on how many zombies may be hosted in a 24 hour period such as 5 a day maximum. It was reaching near 15 zombie games a day. And 5 a day does not mean from 3pm till 5pm, straight zombies.

So there's other events you talk about, I haven't seen crap from you idiots!

Be patient. This is why the ban is for a longer period of time than just a week. The hosts need to get used to not hosting zombies as this has been a trend for almost an entire year. We are expecting new events from TW DEV and plenty more from PLAYERS just like you! Expect more events during the week and also weekday nights! Alot of changes are going down.

Kyace used to have a bot that randomly picked a player who stayed as a zombie when killed. And that person would get to pick the next event.

And TW already has a ton of events.

There are a plethora of great events. Very true, but we always can make new, fantastic, crazier ones also! Think of it like the record business:

There are YEARS and YEARS of great music! But most people still want to hear NEW music all the time. Most of the time, the NEW music is just a repackaged version of the old music with a few things tweaked about it.

That is what making "NEW" events really is.

That is a red herring. Logically, one does not ban events from time frames in a measure to increase hosts. Since none of those who decided to ban zombies have suggested teaching ERs and ZHs how to host stuff to counter-balance the zomban, the weekly hosts will drop, which will then be used as evidence to prove that zombies ruined the zone.

When it was suggested that the ERs' number of adverts drop after limiting the event pool for most of the week, Crazi said this:

I asked what measure cRaZi was using to base the decision of if zombies go back to all week on and got this:

So I took a moment to figure up the percent of adverts to zombie arenas out of all adverts (I took zombie arenas as: twtown, twcity, twvillage, minotaur, ghoul games, jurassic, zombies, zombies2, zombies3, turkey, nemosbase, heist, highschool, bugs, bug and the like)

Note: the weekend-only zombie rule was announced during the week of Aug 13 - 19.

Some interesting things pop out. It would seem that from the week of Aug 6-12 to the week of Aug 13-19, the percent of zombies increased by almost 300%. This may be explained by lots of hosts wanting to get zombies out of their system before the next week.
The percent of zombie arena adverts (95) out of total adverts (905) from Jul 9 to Aug 12 is 10%.

So now I ask again: What percent are we aiming for?

(Note, I had to parse over 1000 adverts manually since I don't get any of the neat sql queries to do this for me, so if you notice any error in my math please tell me and I will correct it.)

Although I don't agree with you posting private staff chat in public and taking my words out of context to support your own arguments, I will answer your claims and possibly any doubts that Trenchers may have:

First of all,

No one can claim the results of <ER>'s hosting less because this so called "Zombies Weekday Ban" has only been in effect for three (3) days. It started on the 21st and you posted your comment up on the 23rd (at least according to my calendar). I think we should at least wait for a week before questioning the decision. I don't really think they are hosting less at all in my opinion. There are different hosts and most of the people on staff are on vacation or are busy with other things. Different months have different flucuations on how many events are hosted as all the event referees and other staff members are voluntarily working.

Now, for the stats:

Deathmatch is a multi-purpose arena (meaning alot of different events could have been hosted there such as SUPER SHARKS, HUNT, DEATHMATCH, KILLER, CONQUER, ETC.. ), we should not really count that arena as far as just strictly a wb deathmatch to 10 game.

Zombies was hosted a total of 65 times. This means within a 30 day period, it was hosted avg 2 times a day everyday. But obviously this is not the case as it would have probably not been hosted one day and hosted maybe 7 times in one day.

I personally have no problem with the fact zombies is hosted. I just feel that we should let it rest for a little bit as recently it has been the most hosted event. Some people may be getting tired of it as the game is losing it's luster.

But, let's check out prior months:

So what have we learned from this past history lesson?

Hockey was WAY over hosted. The result?

Before we used to get an insane ammount of requests all day asking to host Hockey. That number has shrunk TREMENDOUSLY. Now there are fewer people in TW as baseelim is always dead and just fewer people are playing.
Perhaps (and not to say this was the only reason) people got sick of it?

SOLUTION TO THIS BULL CRAP:

We need to host more diverse maps and games! The public doesn't just want to play the same old crap staff forcefeeds everyday.

And the truth is, if people can't bring it to yourself to search for a different arena and host a cool new game or just even an old game in a new arena, then maybe we need to find new people. I am sure there are MANY people that play Trench Wars that would LOVE to host games and have their own ideas come to life for their peers.

Saying that I am not providing them with alternatives is incorrect also. The alternatives have always been there. That is why TWDEV exists. It is not as if Trench Wars only has 10 arenas and 4 games available. There are better arenas than others, but it does not mean that they shouldn't get their shine also. I would just like to see smaller numbers in the same arenas over and over again. This of course has to not include balanceout because that is the only arena that it can be hosted in. But maybe we shouldn't host balanceout every day also. And definetely not javs2 24/7.

We are putting a weekday ban on zombies to freshen it up again so people might actually want to come back to the game and play. I do not hear too many people kicking and screaming about the ban. If I am wrong, please let me know but at least give it a chance.

Since I was one of the people always playing those hockey games I gotta agree that it was overhosted, but also we have an MSHL team for it (I think) so it was more zonered practice and TW recruiting.
