  • My ship views/suggested changes

    My view of a Warbird:
    A solo or 2-3 squad fighter, working alone under the command of his or her teammates; a hunter.
    One hit kills - Great. Perfect for sniping and hunting the enemy Leviathan or dangerous opponents that prove a threat to your teammates. No stealth, cloak, x-radar, rockets, repels, or anything. Just bullets. Afterburners are perfect and so is the energy regeneration. Great ship, no changes neccessary.

    My view of a Javelin:
    A Bomber, seeking and destroying several opponents at a time.
    I believe they should be able to have stealth, but only greenable or ?buy-able, considering most fighter jets try to go undetected. This would prove a worthy adversary in the basing-style fights. Rockets are a valuable asset, as well. I also think the Javelin should have increase bullet firing ability - considering they are a fighter jet.

    My view of a Spider:
    A normal fighter, firing only bullets that deal less damage than a warbird. Used in bulk for squads or teammates, very valuable if used correctly.
    One bullet rapid fire, very useful. No rockets or special features neccessary. Perfect as is.

    My view of a Leviathan:
    The big gun, powerful, similar to a mothership. The dependable and useful ship needed by all teammates.
    I think what needs to be changed here is its power. Numb it down a bit, speed it up, give it more energy and less power, and have other players attach to this ship. I believe it should keep its repels, portals, rockets, bombs/mines, and stealth. Slap on an EMP to it's mines and bombs, reduce the blast radius, and give it tons of shrapnel, and a burst. This ship cannot attach to any other player.

    My view of a Terrier:
    A fighter ship. Fast bullets and fast speed.
    No portals or repels. One rocket. X-Radar. Low energy. 2 hit kill from a spider maybe. Have only two bullets shoot from it at a time, barrel bullets. Increase the speed of the bullets to a little faster than a spider's. No ships can attach to this ship.

    My view of a Weasel:
    A spy ship. Goes undetected and spies on the formation of their enemy, sometimes making surprise attacks or distractions.
    Slap on a yellow bomb without a bounce and give it a massive recoil. Keep the current status, ship size, etc. No mines.


    My view of a Lancaster:
    Strong ship with a wide range of bullet spray.
    Keep all current stats, increase damage a little bit, decrease fire speed and regeneration rate. Slap on an X-Radar to this puppy, and give it more energy.

    My view of a Shark:
    The defender of all defenders. This ship is used to help defend teammates and the team Leviathan.
    Can lay mines, shoot bombs with no initial speed, use X-Radar, and can be used as a shield for teammates, taking damage. Increase initial energy.

    A secondary leviathan bomb change - Have the bomb do like 10 damage, and have an EMP effect lasting 10 seconds.

      Well, you're gonna lose alot of credibility on this one. But, I'll let it slide and we can continue.

      The Levi should be considered the 'mothership' due to its size. And I like the reverse LT idea. I'd move for something like this ...

      Ship:
      Attack: *****
      Defense: *****
      Speed: *
      Handling: *

      Very slow and clunky, it'll require a few players to protect it as fighter escort. Also, players can attach to the Levi, 1 at a time, to do so. With it's high defense it can take 3 warbird bullets to fall a Levi, but due to it's extremly sluggish speed, it can be done if unprotected.

      Level 3 Bullet Gun:
      Attack: *****
      Speed: *
      Bullets: ****
      Range: **

      The gun is a one shot kill gun, but very limited in range. It will send out an arc of 4 bullets at a 45 degree angle infront of the ship to move out for 2 seconds before dying off. The gun will shoot two of these at a time in quick succession, with a long recharge time afterward.

      Level 3 Bombing Cannon:
      Attack: *****
      Splash: ***
      Speed: ****
      Bombs: *
      Range: ***

      The cannon is again, the end-all, be-all of guns. It can weaken an FR if the ship can get within firing range (one screen, or 2 seconds of travel time at high speed). The splash won't be tremendous, but enough to hit the cram/flag area itself. There will be room for people to move away from the blast. It's far enough to get away from the levi, but not far enough for players to pull of the trick shots from 3 screens away in the astroid belt. All attacks will have to be made within borderline-eye distance from the FR, or from the MID itself. Highly destructive, but very time consuming and quite a team effort for it to be in position.

      Items: Stealth Radar, X-Radar, 4 Repels, 1 Portal, 1 Rocket, Team Greening to 20 (to help the Levi off the spawn).

      The Stealth or the X-Radar can be on, but not both or you will lose energy.

      In short: High power battleship of the fleet. On it's own it'll die a quick and easy death, but in a team setting can become a vital part to anyone's assaulting team. With 1 player allowed to attach at a time, people can use the Levi as a base station to defend or attack the enemy, and due to the high upkeep, teams will be forced to only have 1 or 2 on a freq at a time. And no, the levi cannot attach to any ship (Unless you reach 999 bty).

      edit: That's what took 15 minutes .. I'm bored, but the levi needs a change, again.

        very very interesting indeed.

        i like it. But i don't think the levi should be able to take out an entire FR. I think it should be able to EMP an entire FR if possible. That would be RAD. Taking them out in 1 shot it just lame. EMPing them so ur team can do it is better IMO.

          are you nuts or what? keep the frigging settings xcept for the new and shit cloaker, and disable private freqs + add a tk bot and a pub bot to all pubs. THAN think about setting changing the levis blast power, any other suggested change is just silly, why dont u make ur own zone already?

              If you wanna see what I'm talking about, look at the mothership at Starcon .. same idea. I personally love that game alot. Just the feeling of getting a team of 10 guys pushing their cannon into the FR to open it up and push thru. Second place I got this idea from was Assault Mode on Unreal Tournament 2k4 (and other versions). Just kinda like you have more than one job to do before hitting the FR ... longevity to the game, I guess. Phase 1: Bring the Levi to the base. Phase 2: Get the Levi into the Mid. Phase 3: Take the team to the FR. All the while the enemy team is trying to keep you from making it to their flag, and the timer is counting down.

              edit: By the way, opinions are like assholes, and everyone's got one. I think the point is, we all want reform, just what do we want is the question.

                            I like the idea of switching ship roles around.....

                            Rebuttal ideas:

                            • WB: Good as-is. No changes.

                            • Jav: The backwards style bullets are cool... and take some time to master.
                            However, what if you sped the bullets up just a bit.... perhaps to the level at which the spider shoots. You could charge a premium on energy required to fire bullets but it would allow experienced javs the increased opportunity to fend off wb's.
                            Also, it may be interesting if javs are equiped with emp bombs like the shark... only with current jav attributes

                            • Spider: Good as-is. No changes.

                            • Levi: The leviathan is the "cure-all" or super weapon for a team.

                            It would be interesting to see the blast radius kept constant, only converted to emp. This would still enable a well placed levi to kill ppl in the FR. However it would require the shots to be much more precise. Otherwise it will only deliver an energy drain/stun.
                            Leave the bullet pattern as-is. (4 full powered yellows at a 45 degree angle)
                            Grant the levi x-radar with the same energy drain as the jav
                            Impose max Limit of 2 levi's per frequency.
                            One other idea.... could the levi be equipped with an EMP device such as those used in the 'Matrix' movies??? In other words, would it be possible to develope and implement a prize, such as a burst, that produces an EMP charge in every direction? It could have the range of a L3 bomb and render enemies in range paralyzed for a couple seconds.... hopefully giving the levi enough time to escape harms way. It should probably be set to only deliver paralysis to enemy ships.

                            • Terrier: The terrier is great overall. It serves as a nimble recon ship or base ship with minimum fire power. An experienced terr can use his/her agility to evade and/or engage enemy ships.

                            Consider reverting the burst damage back to random. When there are 2+ terrs in the flagroom, it gets a bit outrageous with multiple bursts going off every few minutes.
                            • Weasle: quickly becoming over used.

                            Require weasles to purchase x-radar w/ energy drain
                            Revert to infinite cloak with nrg requirements of 1.
                            Impose a total energy level that results in a 1-hit-kill from any other bombs or bullets... even reds. This will give the weasle a weakness and require pilots to be cautious while approaching other vessels.
                            • Lancaster: Great overal setup.

                            Slow the recharge rate slightly.
                            Perhaps even slow the bullet speed
                            • Shark: We want more power.

                            Increase shark bombs/mines to L2.
                            Keep shrap L1 but with random damage.

                              Hmm ok first of all the shark bomb is level 1 level 2 would weaken it you cant change the level of the shrap but you can change the damage percent and there is no such thing as random damage only bullet/bombalivetime which is affected by lag and further arena settings such as speed and recharge rate
