The new red colored base tiles are an eyesore. Why not just put the twlb map tiles? (silver is good)

Ya I commented about that a few times. Someone took the tileset into photoshop or something, then they actually pasted it into tileedit and lost quality instead of saving it as 8bit and opening it with ssme.

Theres a red glow, and theres not as many shades of grey as there used to be.

No offence but my bases blow peacebase out of the water.
You never heard me say my bases were good anyways, besides kryn3.
And it's not arrogant to say one out of three of my bases are good.

u cant make a vote here saying new map/old map. you have to find a map people like first. put a bot into the publics where those are who will use the map. then everytime u try a new map let players give it a 0-10 rating. and finally after some time vote for the best one or the old one in pubs. not on the forums. most pubbers have never seen those. but i would recommend balancing the settings out first before you do another big change if you dont wanna make everyone be pissed again.

one of the reasons alot of the older players don't pub much is that it is boring and when you are new to the zone and you get lamed by mass javs or cloaks constantly you go elswhere.

We can't just take the current pub map and make it bigger, the shots that everyone knows are still there. We need this map to be more new player friendly and it needs to be fun and entertaining to keep the new players playing. Even though I still like this pub map, it's time for a change.

This poll is pointless. The reason everyone chose 'retain public map' is because those bases suck.

Hint Hint: More options, better bases.

Why only those bases to choose from. I still have never seen anybody point towards the two best bases in trench wars. ?go 2dbase and ?go preview

I think we should work towards enhancing a lot of the features on our current public map. Examples are: Making the tileset much better, adding new sounds just for public arena use (like when a new round starts, ends, flag pts gained, etc), editing the graphics for the energy bars, making entrance objons for public arenas (not annoying ones though) so that new players know whats going on. Seeing as we can't really edit news.txt as vividly, perhaps a constant change of objons for news would be 100% more efficient. Changing the F1 rules things would be nice. Just a general lift of everything there would be sufficient.

This is the least that you should do. Obviously any new map should also be spiced up.

I think all that really needs to happen is possibly scaling the current pub map up. Give it a bigger mid base and FR. I know that moving tiles around will be an issue, but what can you do. I don't know if I would make a radical change in the map. I like elitebase, mixed with boki. Def need a larger mid base. I take it if you change the pub map, that map will be used in twlb?
