If server stays in finland and priitk wouldnt have ever spoke about moving, all would be happy and just continue playing TW.

The fact is, more players will benifiet from the server move than those who won't. No matter what Priitk does he is screwed, and he is basically just going with the majority of the trench war's populatioin, which is the right move.
This isn't in the intrest of the general SS population. There is another reason ... and I know as much as any of you what it is.gravy_: They should do great gran tourismo

Whine Whine Whine
Call this a biased opinion ,but, as a 6-month of the year east-coaster,i think the move will benefit TW more than anything, making it much more accesible, and to the whiney euros, of which i am one (6-months of the year), if you have a half decent connection , you can run 200 ms, which isn't that Gawd Awful terrible, despite the way it sounds. I do agree with the statement that most of trench's population is american, at least, the Pub arena population (what can i say ? all us yanks are nubs :P) and that is scary in itself, when you think about all the pubbers, having 30-120 ms... But anyway, i dont think this is something to get your panties in a bunch about, and no pre-meditation ? You must have absolutely no idea quite how much it would take, at least fer a newbie server operator myself, to move a zone to a new server and organize it all , so unless you can read minds, dont make stupid "My head is in my whiney ass" statements.
G'day

uh, I hope you guys realize that many european routes go through north america and back to finland anyway (thus euros being just as laggy as north americans). the only people who will suffer from this move are the scandinavians.
On east coast dialup I always used to get 200-250 ms pings to SSCU, which is pretty good. Lag effects become noticeable above 290 or so. To all you annoying scandinavians: The difference between 30 and 150 ms is minimal in terms of gameplay.'vet' is the new 'newb'.
sit ez vet, sit.

Only a matter of time until Sonera realized that hosting the game wasn't really in their best interests. I'm just glad Priitk was able to find a replacement server, could have been a whole lot worse. Seriously US players have been doing fine ever since VIE went down and US servers didn't exist for awhile (at least in the zones I was interested in, I don't have the best recollection of what was being hosted where). If you have a decent connection you'll still be fine.
Having your ping go from 30 to 150 is hardly going to kill you people. Thousands of US players have been playing for years like that and doing fine. And now you won't have to deal with all those US laggers that you were always complaining about.
I'm not rejoicing in the streets because personally having a ping of 140 instead of 20-30 never bothered me, but I don't think it's the end of world for Europeans. Sure a few 56kers in Europe won't get to play, but then USA players who haven't been able to play trench will finally get a chance to do so. There is no way to make it perfect for everybody.Last edited by Sleepy Weasel; 02-04-2003, 06:06 PM.
