Hmmmm TW's situation is anything but clear to me, will the zone be depending on donations to stay alive? Or would the donations just help out some?

I fear that if donations are completely necessary, that not enough people will give enough money to keep it going.

Then again I'm completely in the dark here, it may not take that much money, and the people who play the game may be a lot more dedicated than i think.

Anyone capable of answering my questions? Opinions?

How many people are willing to donate? And how much?
What are the long term plans envisioned?
What will happen to other SS zones?
Does Priitk have any plans of his own?

I hate to say it, but as far as I can tell this is the worst news to hit SS since VIE pulled out.

Only time can tell grasshoper. Best that it goes down in a burning pile of rubble quickly, as so that the little children can go on to nerd out in CounterStrike.

I am under the impression that PriitK is paying for the new server personally and these donations would simply alleviate his finances. If that's true I don't feel bad donating.

The last thing I want is to donate and have the server go down anyways in 2 months, because nobody donated enough, and the costs were too high for donations to be a plausible way to save it.

I dont have paypal, credit cards, or any other way of paying over the net... and I dont know about how many other people do. A lot of people that play this game probably are too young to have credit cards or whatever so I dont know how well this will work out.

PriitK said that TW will still be running even if no donations are accepted, however I personally doubt his ability to maintain the server costs on his own so people should donate if they care of Tw.

There is only one thing that bothers me now,
If that request for donations would have been made regardless to the change of server I would love to donate at least the minimum 10$ they are asking for,
The problem is that now after the server was transferred the pings (like you all know) changed, the only thing is that for people who live in Finland (For example), their 30 or 60 ms became 140, but for me, when my ping was around 250 already, it jumped to an average ping of around 850, something that doesn't give me the opportunity to play in Elim, Tourney, Deathmatch and all the other events, I even get specced in Pub.

Therefore I think donations are important and we all should donate, but I don't know if I will myself, because since the move I haven't been able to play and I'm guessing the situation won't get better.
