Not so. I'd like to set the record straight here: the small weasel was only ever played at the same frequency as any other ship and certainly not as much (on the average of course) as javs or wbs. If it seemed any other say, it's because outside of timed pubs there is no real basing going on and there's very few terrs monitoring them.

Right now weasel in purepub are a complete joke. I've used my weasel macro less than ten times in the past month or so and all of them were a waste of keystroke. Weasels there are completely defenseless to begin with and die the moment anyone even as much as sneeze at them. Not to mention the base there is pretty much always stocked full with javs. What I've seen so far is that they did not at any point contributed anything whatsoever to the basing, did not ever steal the flag or killed me or another terr that I can remember. That's all just under my watch however, I'm sure point of view differs, particularly the point of view of greening levs who are now de facto the only targets of the weasel.

Subjugation I think you and I we want the same thing, a ship that fits well in a team setting and is good for basing. Which is why I'll encourage you to look at purepub (which I think is the closest we come to active and "real" basing in pub) and maybe take notice at how weasel have utterly deserted it. Coincidence? I think not.

Small weasel made basing more exciting as I've explained earlier, why they didn't just adjusted the settings instead of rolling back to some old setting that was never even tested with timed pub is beyond me. Just kidding, I know exactly why it was done. One side outwhined the other and as usual the middle ground wasn't ever considered. Which remind me, I've already been ignored so why do I even bother :P

Why not keep the currently implemented Weasel settings and make the ship smaller? Seems like it'd be win win for both sides if you ask me. Then again, I'm not a regular pubber.

the "new" weasel sucks. the old weasel sucked. eliminate ships that can get kills while completely cloaked. they are fucking lame. at least take away their stealth. i called some newb a newb today and all he had to do to own me was get in the fucking weasel and start cloaking away. i reported him, but the mod said it wasnt against the rules. and i sure as hell wasnt about to get in a terr or jav just to fight some newb in a weasel--so i specced. so take away weasel's ability to lame people by killing them uncontested. i dont care how big they are, how strong they are, i just fucking HATE getting killed when there is nothing i can do about it.

I can't stand the old style size of the weasel. It was this smaller weasel that got me playing SS again.

yeah, the change to small weasel was horrible. so many curious newbs took full advantahe of it.

The smaller weasel was far more fun to play and this recent change has made me move on to other games now (which likely pleases some people).

With my last 1000 hours or so playing as the weasel, I have heard many times how the weasel was too powerful, but its funny how there are some players out there who are very effective when it comes to stopping me from coming into base.

good god, you played 1000 hours of weasel? shit, you must be the one responsible for the drop in tw's population. by the way, depending on how you define powerful, those people could be kind of wrong, or VERY right. weasel vs warbird, weasel should win 100 percent of the time. same with any other ship without x radar. that's too powerful.

I think player ability far outways any of the ship capabilities. The good players have always been able to stop me dead in my tracks, the others couldn't and resorted to whining usually (or changing the game ).

this makes no sense. the best warbird/spider in the history of tw couldnt stop you in your tracks. you were fucking invisible. what are they gonna do, shoot randomly and hope to hit you? open your fucking eyes man.

ok instead of sitting around and bitching i will try to be a bit more productive by suggesting ways to keep the weasel's role as an assassin, but eliminate it's ability to lame outside of where it is actually meant to be used.

1. shrink it back. take away stealth. keep cloak. give it a whole lot of energy and maybe a rep or 2. this is good because it can still go for those last second flag captures, but it is hard to kill because it is a fucking tank. and, praise jesus, it cant sit around in lower base and spawn zone picking off every god damn ship it feels like. the fact that it still has cloak means that seasoned players who check their radars will be able to defend themselves like they should be able to.

2. keep it the same size. take away stealth and cloak. give it some specials; a couple rockets, portals, decoys, bricks, reps, maybe even a slow burst. boosts its energy a bit, and speed its bullets up a bit. so basically it is the ship with the bag of tricks. unpredictable.

im just throwing ideas out here. just trying to prove how FUCKING EASY it is to keep weasel the "assassin" ship without having to make people suffer from it's widespread misuse as an invisible newbie laming vehicle.

Gotta agree, just make him small again... I could care less about any other aspect of the cloaker, just want it small again.

At least remove the ability to buy rockets for the weasel. And do something about thrust-shot if possible. Remove triple-fire. Then the small weasel might be..passable. Right now it's overpowered and we'll soon again see 6 weasels per side making the game shit.

The Weasel will be changed back to what it's original settings were soon. Not to be confused, it was the Weasel that was the same size as the rest of the other ships. Hopefully Pure_Luck can get that changed soon.
