Tournament and games were fine until on the semi-finals a goal against Celtic (Celtic vs Baby Panda Killers) which was a clear phase through our weasel was called clean.

Well it's over.

THanks Barton for the organising and Stargazer for doing the majority of the hosting. It went ok, but I think it was frustrating having to wait around for 2 hours etc. Also, Barton leaving meant I had to hop in as a host which I was willing to do, but wasn't really my original plan.

Some suggestions if you want to do this again:

Make it over a few days, this means people don't have to stick around for several hours before they even get their first game. This also allows you to put up some sort of schedule.

Get the rosters properly sorted. Having a roster called "GiantTiger" meant they could just recruit anyone they wanted into their squad during the tournament and they could play. Get them sorted properly and clearly a day or so before the tournament and make NO EXCEPTIONS for letting people play. I'd suggest a roster minimum of 8 - 9 people and maximum of 14.

Get the rules and format properly sorted before the actual tournament. It's not very good to decide on the timings and stuff during the games.

I'd suggest just making a post with a summary of the rules. This will also lead to no differences between hosts.

I'd also suggest having it as a sort of mini-league so people can play more than one.

Maybe we could do something like this next week? I'd be willing to help.


Say 10 teams entered, you could could have two groups of 5. Every team plays their own group once. And then the winners of each group play in a final.


So that gives a total of 21 games. So over a week that could just be 3 games a day.


EDIT: Also don't allow random teams. None of them showed.

Feel a bit hard done by as Flabby could have won i think with more time.

Next time though state the time for a game and how many points the game is too beforehand,and also what happens in the event of even scores at time running out.

If you guys ever decide to host such an event again (go on, do it!) these would be my recomendations:

Dont host it over several days. Its already hard enough to get 7 people online 1 day, let alone several.

Get a bit more staff (maybe from hz) to help reffing. Get everything sorted out so that games can start right away instead of setting up the for 20 mins and then playing 10.

Don't require teams to submit a roster. If a team would submit 7 man before the tourney, at most 5 would show up. Just make sure that a captain signs up, (who already should have a team!) but can add people at the beginning of the tourney. Make sure that they submit the final roster when the event starts. This would save alot of forfeits.

Random teams are fine. Just dont make the roster final. Get a roster of 8-9 people, and probably less then 7 will show up, but just fill them up with random people who didnt sign up.

The league idea is pretty fun. You'd need a proper staff to organize this, but making all teams play 4 games, and then get the top 4 or so to play the semis and finals would make the event more interesting for player of all skill level since they get to play more. And in the semis and finals there is a team you played against, so it would make it more interesting to watch.

I feel bad that Celtic (Sertifi) could win their first game after I passed it right to them for the 2-2 tie. Although it was kinda funny at the time.

I feel bad that my other team thinks HZ sucks because of the whining.

I feel happy that I am not banned for doublesquadding.
