the plan i am thinking of (haven't looked at the code in a while, and it wasn't that fancy really imo) is to just remove the ajax parts (except for the parts that aren't essential, like clicking on the random image to generate a new one) and to have the list of names laid out better than before. This will do a number of things, including:
Everything else that might be done to improve the site would just be small fixes that someone else could easily do.
- restoring back button functionality
- bringing back the links to individual members
- cutting down on loading time here and there
- making the site workable for people who like to turn of javascript so they can whine about how 90% of websites don't work right
