Why is okay to make fun of homosexuals and completely insult them but if i were to say "All black and mexicans are dumb peices of shit and should be shot" i would be banned. Being gay is the same as being any skin color, you don't chose to be gay, so if you go around calling them fags it's the equivalant(sp?) of going around and calling people the "n word" or any other racist word. We do enforce rules on this topic but the same applies to all hate speech, don't bring it into the public chats.

You would say that yes, Gays and Lesbians who are mistreated would be considered, by law, to fall under "hate crime". We can all agree on that by fact. And we do warn/ban on racism. The slurs and the like. Now, that you're saying, when someone says the "G-word" (gay), we should behave the exact same way.

The only problem I see in this is the way the word is handled. You can say that the "N-word" is not used in a racist context, like "Wsup my n*gga". But, the history behind that word is quite strong and highly offensive. On the flip side, take the "G-Word" in a sentence, like "Stop being gay". And you have a new meaning on this same word.

Before, you could say "I'm having a gay day." That would state to people that "I'm having a happy day.". Nothing to do with man on man love. And the common play yard nomenclature states that in the sentence "That was gay", you are claiming that "What just happened to me shouldn't of happened and I am quite disappointed in the outcome of that. I really planned it to go quite differently." In that terminology the term "gay" has 0 connection with people anyways. While the "N-word" is always used as a noun. You never say "That was n*gga" or "You n*gga'd" me.

So, if you want this "Double standard" to stop, you'd have to then take every case of the term "Gay" used and then compare it to the anti-gay sentiments of each statement said. And, at the end of the day, it's just not plausible for staff to cover the multitude of statements regarding that and then deciphering the context in each one.

I'm sorry if you're offended, but you'll find in vast majority of places you'll find the exact same double standard because it's not as easily enforcible. So, instead of trying to impose a ban on others you should try to make a difference yourself and refrain from using the said terminology and try to set a good example for your fellow players.

Now, on the subject of the "F-Word part 2" (fag). You now have a connection to the person rather than an action. And usually, if it's grossly overdone we intervene. Most of the time, though, it goes unreported by players who just don't care to report it or are not offended enough to do so. Unless you're sucking a dick outside or getting cornholed in public, it's pretty hard to tell from a distance if someone's gay. In addition, it wasn't some mindless, instinctual, involuntary action. It was a desire that was sought to be fulfilled. It was a choice.
