I don't think you should target the commercial at people not playing SS, they could care less. Only the people who are into SS more will actually be able to appreciate it. If skip put together a cool little movie and word got around about it, I bet alot of people would want to see it. Heck, you could even put a link in the forums here to download it. Just an idea.

What must first be decided, then, is the purpose of this commercial. What do you want it to do, and who do you want it to reach?

Do you want it to attract new players? To solicit financial support? To highlight your own technical and production skils? For pure entertainment for those who already play? To add to the on-going and fascinating history of a truly underground game?

Keep in mind that this kind of project has varying degrees of ambition.

Beef why make a commercial about something.. if only people who already use it/ play it get to see it.
They way I see it the intention of a commercial is to get people to buy their product/ play there game whatever. So what is the purpose of a commercial if only people who don't need to start with this game get to see it?

Troll made a good point....a major part of videography is the audience you are presenting too...i may have to make multiple versions. Lets get a general consensus... who thinks we should attract new players, bring more funding, or making it just for the existing SS players?

skip, just make a trailor like you said before..dont worry about who it is for...this is your project, and i think there are only 2 options.

1) make it a trailor type thing with quick changes from scene to scene, and have fast music (my input of rancid maxwell murder is a good choice! :P)

2) make it really funny so everyone can enjoy it from tw/ss
this will probably give you more complimentys, because humourous things are better.

You could set up some fake shots. Like 1 levi literally killing 100+ people, or a jav blowing everyone in base to nothingness.

Commercials look better for games when theres big boomers :/

I was never in favor of making a commercial that would attract more people. Like louis said, more people equals more lag That is why I suggest you just make it for the people who play, that is my vote.

wtfz! i know louis isnt on cripples :P (something i asked him everyday, like a year ago)

agreed with the people who dont want more players.

make it for the players of tw..dont even include other zones
if you keep it trench wars only, it will be easier to make and the tw players will enjoy it more, rather than watching clips from zones they dont play.
