Stargazer you have evolved to the best host generally.
Though I agree when you host hockey, recently you have been slack, not speccing douchebags fast enough, and just having the game go to 5 and then just leave the second it is over. Hockey is an event that should be hosted several rounds in a row (with new captains)!
Also I don't like how most hosts say "first two to PM Me random words are captain". For a good game YOU pick two vets that will make even teams. This goes for all events of this type.
Luv ya man!

That aside, I simply must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the scope of your reviews. From anime to playstation 2 games to calendars detailing the bodices of the french national rugby team. You leave no stone unturned! And the sheer dedication you show by giving your in-depth analysis on the annual DVD covering the making of the Dieux du Stade calendars is equally as impressive.

When hosting basing, always warp teams to ears if the game stretches out and gets boring. Make sure to prevent any sort of slippery slope mechanics in your hosted games, and find a balanced perpetual comeback mechanic so the intensity in the game lasts as long as possible. Also, make sure you don't fuck up games by helping either side too much.
Not very pointed at you in general, but more like my 2 cents in the hat.

at the end of a hostathon, finish off in ?go trivia or some such...have Acro going, and prize people random shit. at some point its more enjoyable to socialize and fuck around.

Well you host alot, but it seems like you do alot of your games half-ass sorta. Like in Hockey when there is a good game going on and people want it to go to 7 and win by 2, but you just say "I already said the rules" and repeat them, it makes you look like a douchebag basically. Having a set of players that will attend your events no matter when and what you host is important, getting a group of players to follow you from event to event for hours is also important. When you lose these players, the other people that play these events don't have as many people to play against and it becomes a downward spiral. Other then that, never use staffsite Macro rules, they are terrible and droning, make up your own rules every time you host the event, even if they are always somewhat different thats ok, it adds originality to an otherwise mundane event. Every little bit helps. My last piece of advice is to always give your smart players who try to follow the rules the decision over an idiot who can't read the rules or won't follow the rules. If you have to spec five people who won't attach in turretwarz in a game with only 25 people, so be it, the other 20 will have a better time in the process of doing so, also you will be known as a host who doesn't allow idiots to ruin his events, and you will get better players coming to them. Other then that, you do pretty well, just remember Quality > Quanity, hosting hunt 500 times a month doesn't mean you are a good host, and start being more sociable with your players so you can pick up a loyal group of players.
