Oh, and I actually like what Mootland is doing, it is a terrible job to have to make 500 people who play pubs have more fun while doing so, while dealing with criticism from older players who just go there to levi-terr and tk people in javs. But I have my eye on your Mootland, one wrong step and im making a forum post about the incapability of staff along with the redundancies of automation.

Do you count first as being arena 1 or arena 0? He mistyped when he said every third, but he did say arenas 1, 3, 5, etc... will have the bots.

Ok let's have an example

Suppose you have the following arenas
(Public 0)
(Public 22)
(Public 35)

Public 0 is the 1st public and will be pure public. Also Public 35 which is the 3rd, and the 5th, 7th and so on.
In this case, Public 22 will not be pure public but just normal (with priv freqs, levs and no flag game).

If that's the case, then the answer to Reaver's problem is simple: just don't count the top pub when considering the results. Look only at the subsequent pubs to see if the ones with pure pub bots really do attract more people.

As often pubs typically look like this now with this setup

38 - 1st pub (purepub timed)
41 - 2nd pub (levi pub)
16- 3rd pub (purepub timed)

which means people wanting to play leviathan cannot. People are complaining about this....

Pub 0 is almost always the pub that's the most popular, so that doesn't add up Flabby.

There's nothing that can be done to combine it either. It's a completely black and white situation where one side wants to base without a ship with powerful non-bounce bombs and the other wants to play their levi without any nerfs.

Oh, and how can you posibily say that those who wants to play levs cannot?

Levis has publics for them to play in, so if there isn't enough there for the levis to bomb, then you just have to accept that your arena isn't popular enough.

Those who plays levi will only be happy to give them an arena filled with basers in the base, so they can totally fuck up the basing aspect by bombing everything. Guess what, a large majorty does not think that is fun.

i like this part...

just make a straight up levter arena that has bots in it... bots on your team and others... give the bots sweet names and make them spawn in one enclosed spot... that way you can bomb that spot and get lots of kills. both on your team and other team. then you can be happy... right? no...

levterring jsut isnt fun unless youre completely screwing wiht ppl who want to base. which is why i also like the fact that you cant have them in the real basing arenas

why not take off the cap on the lev-allowed arena?... or am i not understanding?

I can't help but act a bit unsuprised when I see another attempt to minimalize levis in TW public. But everytime levis go under the knife... tw will lose. I'm not gonna stand here and say I can explain every little cause and effect for Trench Wars decline, but I can certainly say that there are not enough pubs in Trenchwars to mess around with.

I understand that for some people TWs may be about basing.... and trust me I have played many a time in ?go base and I enjoy it... but when anyone serious wants to base they don't go into one of you POS newb pure pubs where the freq that wins is the one that has less javs to tk the only players that care...

I've heard people call levis lame.... but a few days ago I got to 1230 bounty in shark... without buying greens... or recieving anymore than 50 or so bounty from prizing... I just mined tube and waited.... I can be lame a shit in w/e pub you can make, just as long as it the same newbs shitting up the place that are stupid enough to take it all day.

Leave your top timed pub if you'd like because all it is to any player of skill is free laming bounty in ANY ship... because who in pub cares about basing if they can get a 2:1 rec without having skill? very few.

So before you manuever to eliminate the levis from TW think about what ur doing... what ur creating? newbs don't get any better when they pick up another ship... they don't wanna base just cause some upper staffer thinks thats what the zone is for... if they came to do shit... they gonna do it... and if its being lame, they are gonna do it cause they can.... and this is TW not SVS.

The problem with your analogy with the shark is that you're focusing only on what you consider "lame" play in that ship, to prove that it can be as lame as the levi. What you ignore is that this isn't the problem with Levis. It's the fact they regularly disrupt basing, which your shark example doesn't do with anything near the intensity or frequency.

I'm not trying to shaft Leviathan players. If anything, this change has been beneficial to Levi Terr players. There is usually 3-4 full open Public arenas during the busiest time of the day. That means two arenas for Basers, and two for Leviathan players. When the population starts to drop off, there are two Baser arenas, and one Leviathan arena. Now, you're thinking, that's a definite shaft to Leviathans, but it was better than before, when there were two Pure Public arenas and one half empty Leviathan arena. This way, the amount of arenas for both groups of players are even, and when they're not, there's at least one full Public for one group to play in.

You obviously haven't played at nighttime when ?go base isn't running and there are great Base games in Public 0. Public basing is most certainly different to ?go base play, and Pure Publics have certainly proved their popularity.

I think you're over reacting. All I've done is moved the Pure Public arenas around. If anything, there will be at least the same amount of Leviathan players playing. Trench Wars is Basing, doesn't mean I'm going to remove other types of gameplay.

there are no levis in a basing pub and the x had been redesigned to access the base trough the holes while the lanc has been changed to be more efficient in small rooms.

Oh, I was looking at the bigger picture - dueling. Quite rightly there's no Leviathans in Pure Publics, the population didn't want that after my last test. I want to get the Weasel changed, and the Lancaster in my eyes is fine the way it is.
