Trench Wars Hop Servers

As soon as everyone started complaining about lag problems, I started having issues myself, at roughly the same time Flabby mentioned. I live in the eastern part of the US, so this apparently doesn't only affect people not in America. I don't understand how 30% of people playing SS can get the same lag issues starting around the same time and ending at the same time, with the only variation in ping times being changed slightly by area. Daldur shows that he gets pings around 860, I still get pinged around 450 at the same time. If the server isn't at fault in anyway, then we're having a global epidemic of lag issues.

That shows the ping response in milliseconds using a website and it is around 100-120 ms roughly, whereas using the game I get over 600 regularly

I'm sorry to break it to you, but all that website is doing is showing a ping report from THEIR server (which is located in the USA) to the TW server. All that does is further prove that it's your connection that's fucked up.

Open a command prompt and enter "ping 66.36.241.110" without quotes, and you'll get a ping report from YOUR computer to the TW server.

no thats the path to the one and only tw game server, tw's does not own those hop servers u r talking about. therefore tw can do nothing about it

It does have Hop Servers, they are servers used to assist in the sending and receiving of packets across internet gateways. That is why when I do a trace I get 6 servers and not just the 1 server which is Trench Wars Game Server.

Not to mention that Daldur's incomplete trace clearly shows that there is an issue with his connection. There is a 400ms lag between him and his gateway. Sort that shit out first before you complain about TW's server. Call and bitch to your ISP or whatever you have to do.

Maybe he just has a really bad concept of time, and he's talking about when they moved it from Europe to the (US) East coast.

I get C2S around 3.5%-4.5% mon-thur and 2.0%-2.5% fri-sun.

VERY ANNOYING! If it continues then ill prolly quit trenchwars.
