    about the bonus I was going to say that to I saw myself get in between bases (so maybe it doesn't check every time?)

    about the emp its not really over powering but I think the time needs to be increased slightly so it isn't used so often thats may opinion

    • Checked the logs; not sure why the bot died. It didn't give a reason, but was just DC'd by the server. May have been too many messages at once. It'll encounter this problem from time to time. Sorry about that one.

      Re: people that don't help the team such as Dack, any recommendations? Clearly they're actually detrimental to have on a team. Seems like this sort should almost be on a separate rogue-only army, one which receives no points for winning a round on the off-chance they actually do, but is also free from the pressures of capturing the base, receiving no bonus or detriment from having/not having flags. Changing to this "army" could be a free !defect as well. Would having such an option disrupt the game too much, or would it add another level of play while keeping people that just want to rack up kills from throwing off team strengths (and in so doing making it very difficult for the team they're on to win)?

      Re: !emp, the only thing not up for negotiation is the energy dropping to 0. This is the entire point of the ability. I could remove the engine shutdown portion, or adjust the time for shutdown (which also affects Weasels' vengeful bastard, unless one or the other used the negative engine shutdown, which has I believe double the time of a normal shutdown), and also in doing this increase or decrease regen time for the ability. Suggestions very welcome.

      Terr +3%: as long as you're in FR +50% of the time you should get the bonus. For most Terrs this should be pretty easy to get. If it seems like it's being given out too frequently, we could up it to 60%, or reduce the bonus to 2.5% or 2%.

        so why would the stay in a 1-man army instead of a freq? i mean, you can still win the end of the round thing if your team wins and do the streak-warp thing..

          Agreed. Would it not be possible to penalize someone who isn't in a flagroom at all and doesn't die a certain time?

          • Well, how about this:a rule that if you're on a team, you have to make a "good faith" effort to try and defend or take one flag or the other. If a mod discovers that you're not doing this, they can use a command to force you to the rogue army (there may be more than 1 person on this army at a given time, as well -- it would be freq 2, sort of a penal colony, like Australia back in the day; no offense, Aussies). At that point you can still !defect off of that rogue army, with the cost being the usual full rank in every ship you own.

            • Seems like a lot of bandwidth will be wasted because people are annoyed by Dack.

              Just leave it be, there is still absolutely no evidence that having him on your team makes you less likely to win a basing game. He's getting kills, after all. And to increase his streak he has to kill ships that are of high enough rank. That means at many various points throughout the match he has the attention of at least some of the enemy - if he's straying a team attacking fr from the mid-base, they're going to continue to get hit until someone breaks away to go fight him - when someone diverts all their attention away from the flagging game because of your "useless" teammate, how is that not helpful to you? All of this is just as much theory as is anyone claiming that beacuse of his ship strength, him not being in the flagroom hurts the team. So why are people calling for a change? Because he warps before you kill him? Because he shoots and runs? Because he is "lame"? None of these are reason enough to drastically change the game. If you create a separate army that streakers can voluntarily switch to you're essentially turning this from a 'pure public' to a 'regular public' arena.

              Edit: you're absolutely right dug, this may be one of the first things (besides teamkilling and hacking) that are actively moderated in distension :P I'm just saying that I think people are misreading the situation, and making a commotion about someone who isn't the team's saboteur they're making him out to be.

                emp as I've said I think its really just needs to be increased just a little bit like 5-10 mins max

                Also I like that the terrs just need to be in FR 50% of the time I was just making sure that you wanted that, cause I was concerned that the only terr (as I was in the test ) wouldn't get the bonus going in between bases, and I was going to ask for you to make something to help out the only terr on the team.

                • Is there any way to make it so rp earned per kill differ when in fr/mid/spawn area, and to have that affect the streak rp somehow? And then during free play, make it so it is all weighted equally.

                    • I get raped by ships way under my level, I think I had most deaths. The only redeeming thing I can do now is basically suicide rush the terr with anti...

                        I am pretty much in the same shoe as mango here... except i have multi instead of anti.
                        All i can do is rush terr with my multi-fire (low firing delay) and hope for a terr kill.

                        • I don't think people like Dack are much of an issue...yet. I can see how having several people floating about no-mans-land is a waste of space on your team; however, Dack himself still manages to rake in a reasonable amount of kills in a game. He also causes grief to terrs and players making their way between bases.

                          If this becomes more common, and is exercised in a less skillful manner, it may cause balance issues.

                            Fortunately it won't require much to do something about it. It would just alter the playing style a little bit. Whether or not it should be done I'm still unsure, though I sort of like the idea of a rogue army. Some people might choose to join it straight off just because that's how they like to play. Maybe having a chance to play the game in a way that isn't like purepub would actually be beneficial. I know that I still enjoy not basing from time to time, one reason I put the free play time in after a round.

                            prj drag: I implemented your idea about streaks not being counted except inside a base. Also made kills outside any base worth 20% less. It might do something. Marked you down for the idea.

                            Spiders: Not sure there's a lot I can do. I upped the energy tank recharge rate per level from 15% to 25%; maybe the ability will now become more useful, and spiders can depend on it a bit more, balancing out their otherwise low energy. Does anyone use the super, and if so, how well does it work? Does its rate need to be upped? 5% seems a bit small, though a spider with several levels of it and multifire would be able to devastate an FR.

                            • k i scrapped super, is uh... very bad.
                              i had 3 levels of it, so 15% chance in total. lets just say, in the 40 min i had it, i only got it once and i lasted 3 or 4 sec? -_-

                              level 3 energy tank is better... :P

                              • lets have another army randomization? i dont like this fixed armies one always gets better at a faster speed than the other. also im not on that freq which bothers me.
