I'm not sure if this is in the game already, but probably not: How about when you get TKd, your streak count wouldn't go to zero? This way it wouldn't be so annoying to get TKd. And maybe the one getting TKd would get some RP as a compensation, while the TKer loses some. It's then more as if the TKer has to "pay" for his mistake.

This is already in effect. If you are teamkilled, your streak doesnt get reset (or at least it shouldnt be). The Tker pays for its mistake, it loses RP for every teamkill he makes. The one getting tked getting compensation? This isnt implemented, and isnt really necessary imo. In most cases the teamkiller is to blame (as in missing a shot, or firing at sharks), but also cuz of ppl that dont bother getting out of the way. Stupidity is something we dont have to reward.

Whenever I'm alone in the flag room and I see a weasel coming many times I don't call for help. I don't even waste my bursts because I know I can take care of it. And like I said in today's game, the terrs in distension have faster bullets that allow them to kill something without getting close. And get close is what the weasel needs to do to kill a terr. Because even a rocket can't outspeed a terr firing and warping. Or I could just choose to not fight the weasel at all, the terr is not an attacking ship. Let my teammates handle it. I'll just stay away and shoot in its direction.
The double RP and no escape pod are there to encourage a weasel to kill the terr because it's so hard specially for a weasel. If it wasn't for that weasels would probably not bother.
I have to agree that there are two main ways for the weasel. Building your ship to survive and claim flag, or building it for terrkilling. Mjoll mostly went down the first road, i took the second.
But anyways, this is quite a silly discussion to have here, back to bugfix.

Listening to Jngy talk about Weasels from a Terr's point of view really shows how weak the Weasel has grown in comparison to the Terr. Vergilius just loves his Weasel so he is being mr. positive again but I have a few ideas anyway. Two points on the Weasel subject:
- I think the Weasel rockets could be a little stronger. They are really weak nowadays. I don't remember why they were weakened this much but it was probably because Jav rockets were being changed. The Jav rocket seems fine at the moment, so it maybe a problem to balance this though.
- Since yellow bullets and blue bullets cannot be seperately adjusted in energy consumption, it has been a problem to make the blue ones useful. My suggestion is that the Weasel gets extra RP from kills when you kill anyone with the blue bullets. That would encourage using "the better bullets" more. I know Verg likes his blue ones but I am pretty sure I can get more RP with the yellows just because I can shoot them so many more times.Last edited by Mjollnir; 04-08-2008, 01:30 PM.

I have to agree with mjoll again. Yesterday I ranked my weasel up to level 32 and concluded it almost impossible to kill people that do not want to get killed.
Without rockets it is literally impossible to kill a base ter, with rockets it doesn't get much more easy since the ter will port when seeing a weasel rocket, plus, you need to quite close to use it anyway.
The only kills I got were from people that planned on going straight at me and shooting, whereas a NC usually follows. Shooting a ship going away from me or just dodging sideways is useless as they have to do no effort to dodge it. I know it isn't meant to dominate ships anyway but at the moment it feels totally dead.
It is actually good for taking a flag, but then, if there is a ter and a jav/lanc/lev waiting in a flagroom even this is close to impossible.
My solution: make the terrier bullets a bit slower or the cooldown higher, it's ridiculous that it can take on ships 1 on 1 that easy, not just weasel. Make the rocket of the weasel last 50% longer or increase it's bulletspeed to make it viable to go after a ter.Last edited by Singularity; 04-08-2008, 09:26 AM."... Sigh.. call me Mr positive about my weasel, i dont mind. Getting terr kills isnt easy, i meant that your weasel can be perfectly equipped to go after the terrs. It is hard, yes, but training makes perfect. Well, at least better. Mjoll, you can compare to the jav. You make tons of kills with every bomb you fire, and that's not the case in weasel. Compare the time to rank; that is discussable, not the amount of kills you get. Give me statistics. How much RP is it to lvl? 200k? The weasel isnt built for a lot of kills, so the required RP isnt that high. And about being hard to get a claim; sorry, but that is just ridiculous. Last test i played i had 22 sector holds and 23 sector breaks, both the maximum of the team. The only ship that might compare to that amount is the shark. And ehm.. killing a terr without rockets impossible? Yes, rockets are a big part in that. Thats also the reason you get to buy the first rocket pretty early. But is it the only way? No. Try using your portal wisely. just a hint. that works too.
Edit: I do agree on the terr's bullet speed tho. In a non-fr battle those are deadly for weasels. even with 20-lvl difference.

I normally dont have a problem with weasels unless i forget xradar and the weasel gets in a lucky burst. But javs, that yellow bomb i think is way overpowered. jav can burst and shoot that bomb quickly , and if it lands on the same side of the fr thaat im on, or even in my general viscinity im likely to be killed. I think the range of damage for that bomb should be reduced a little.5:Melanoma> so I kinda cheated on my gf yesterday

with the way ships' bombs are set in distension, the jav is supposed to have the strongest weapons (lvl 2-3 bombs). I don't see how it's overpowered to have the best weapon in the game if that's how it's supposed to be. Kinda like the levis in pub, everyone complains about their bombs b/c they're the most destructive. Think of the jav's bombs more like the levi bombs of pub: they're going to annoy everyone but the one guy who's shooting them. And that guy's having one hell of a good time..fffffffff_____

That first game today in the second session was really short. And you can't stay on another frequency permanently because most players will want to go to the freq with the most skillful players and that will lead to inbalance. The bot tries to balance the two armies by levels but there's also skilled involved, which the bot can't measure right now. Maybe it should take in account the amount of kills/deaths too.
Another thing, this happens rarely, maybe once every 3 days. My terr ship doesn't get the speed, thrust, rot, etc upgrades but it gets the burst and portal. Then after I die it goes back to normal.

If you have ever played jav before jngy, you would know that more often than not, jav bombs (especially level 2) are almost a guaranteed rep unless the shark dies / there is no shark. Sure they are devastating by themselves, but I am a sitting duck for a full 8 seconds before i can shoot another one. If anything, lancs are increasingly dominating both the FR and mid base, just because of their 4 shot level 3 spam. Which is impossible to dodge at any close range, and still annoying at a distance. However, the real problem here is the 60% leech that many lancs are enjoying. Probably their only weakness is their inability to dodge / turning radius of an aircraft carrier.
And I have noticed the decline of spiders and wbs recently. Presumably because they are worse in regards to flag room battles. Cmon now, spiders are the staple of basing, and get routinely owned by lancs.
Also, I just started weasel as my last ship to get ops. Yeah. Rofflewaffle. I just pray that no one pays attention / misses all their bullets on me. I got bored after 1-19.
