look, i really don't care if i idle or not, i'm usually just too lazy to turn off continuum. if you're going to let us idle though, please let us do it in private arenas or at least give the afk arena a blueout. when i come back from being afk the most fucking annoying thing is having to scroll through shit-loads of nonsensical banter and bitching. christ.

I dont see the attraction with usage myself I would do it to run a logfile or secure a new name with usage but otherwise it has no use. Mr. Arrogant 2 has entered the arena FTW

Or you can type ?arena and then scroll... or you can alt-tab and X out of it... or you can alt+ctrl+del the continuum application... or you can hardboot your computer...

It's nice, as a squad captain, to be able to come back from afk and scroll through chats (with no blue) and see what your squad's up to. I'm not even a cap and I like to do that as well...

maybe arrogant should work like this: if he's gonna d/c you, he pm's you, but if you reply, he'll ignore it. that way, you can set your ?away message and idle whereever you want. alot of times i go afk and wind up not coming back, in those cases i think it's fine for arrogant to d/c me. but on certain days or periods of time i like to log chats, like squadchat and asst/cap chat.

Wait, so people who would otherwise be participating in an event are in afk instead? Where's the proof of this? Seems to me like afk would just be a way of consolidating the myriad people that afk in TW already. I don't see how it would outrank playing the game to people that are interested in it.

Anyway if more than 1/3 of the population would rather afk than play a video game...

How is band width a prob when the overall population in SS is less than 1/2 of what it was a few years ago?

I paid yrs back on the threat that TW was going to vanish, but obviously that never happened.

If Mr. Arrogant is to be used on any specific arena, do it in the 1st pub arena.

I stopped being AFK in TW by just not logging on anymore...well maybe once every few weeks.

Are there still ppl that argure on how much usage time they have put in on this game?

I could care less where we afk, but I like ?go afk.. I pop in there when I'm not in the mood for base/pub and there are no events running. And I most especially hang out in there waiting for the *** DISTENSION INITIALIZED notice, for events to be hosted and for friends (or those I stalk *g*) to come online. Of course, I'm also one of the ones that fill the room up with useless banter :blushing: But it was awful when I had to disconnect, ended up missing out on a lot of things I would have participated in otherwise.

But speaking of Distension, it's launch will help reduce the afk population. By 1 for sure. :grin:

I'd love to see a few spec games, a ?go specgames where chatters and those waiting for events can hang out. And Mr. Arrogant visiting fewer arenas.. perhaps everything but privs? It is disturbing to see 60 people afk and 40 in pubs. At least if those truly afk can hangout in their own choice of a private arena, and those not really afk, can hang out and chat or play spec games.. everyone could be happy... er.

Mr. Arrogant 2 is no longer going to roam arenas. Unless the bandwidth issue comes up again it will probably stay that way. We can always modify it to only goto Public Arenas and other arenas with a population limit if spectators become a problem.

as far as i know bandwidth isnt the issue at the moment its sub arenas being opened, and i sortof agree that there shouldnt be a huge amount of sub arenas opened.

if arrogant just kicked people afk in the pubs and in subarenas (not squad arenas or designated areas where there is no limit on the number of players allowed in the arena, like elim) it would be much more useful, i noticed gammabot goes into pubs and i assumed that was kicking people, yet i still see 5-10 people sat in spec doing nothing.

going to make a point, when you see that theres like over 80 people on and 60 of them are afk and the other 20 are bots then it just makes u leave amirite?
