I was just a bit curious but has tw ever sent emails to players that havent played in a while. I have played some other games and generally when something big happens the game would send an email.

We can do all the advertising we want but it falls to pieces if we don't have something worth keeping the new people. At the very least, I'd suggest before doing any more advertising or poll's or anything like that, we get a tutorial arena up just like DSB has (?go tutorial in DSB if you don't know). Beyond that it would be a good idea to get pubs in a better state of condition before advertising.

Reaver is exactly right. Advertising did not bring me to this game, word of mouth did, back when this zone was very popular. I continue to repeat myself ad nauseum that this game's evolution has stalled, and it needs a more modern looking pub map and also more refined ship settings based on what we have learned from pure pubs. Maybe some day people will listen! I know there are people who are afraid of change and launch into a tirade if any part of their cyber-world changes, but ignore them, for soon they will be the only players we have left.

Advertise now and we will only cause more people to reject the game faster.

Does anyone want to help out marketing for this game ? I had an adwords account going but I switched to hosting roboking server instead. The game of the month thing seems good for us as well... Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated...

I haven't got money, but I have got suggestions for some marketing ideas. The game can be highly addictive. I think if you can get an influx of newbies at the same time, then there will be a way take advantage of that. If you could send people with ?usage of less than say 5-10 hours to certain maps, then those newbies would mingle with eachother and the whole "skill vs newb" factor is eliminated, simply because it'll be newb vs newb. Thus people will be more likely to stay.

Now, I have two marketing ideas. Whenever I come across a news article or review of something I've never heard of, but find interesting, I want to check it out. Perhaps we could use some of the accrued funds to pay some websites to feature an article about Continuum and Trenchwars more specifically highlighting certain features like free, mass-multiplayer, customizeable...fun. I don't know of any websites that would be willing to cooperate, but I think it might be worth looking into.

My second idea would be to record an intense base match or some sort of close-quarters match and get it featured on Youtube (I don't know what it takes to get featured on Youtube, but you all know how many people grace that site all the time). Something like that would definately draw attention and interest and I think would bring a sudden influx of newbies that could all learn together and hopefully some will stay.

I totally agree with Reaver, people aren't staying even if they do come so I do think we haev to revolutionize the intro map itself. Maybe it should be replaced with some tutorial map that shows the different kind of events or something different. Maybe we could up the amount of players on the map.

I like the advertising idea, that movie was great as well. I could use that a little bit to get the word around.. Is there a subspace myspace that we have as well? Just a myspace dedicated to it. You should probably haev a group of players who link the video around maybe, especially to gamers..

The game has a great community. I think it can work.
