lol, most of us old fogies earned our stripes IN elim. You are missing the point of the usage limit. you sound like you're scared of competition.

A while back I would say no because there were so many people playing it; but now I think we should really get rid of it because we can get it populated again, if it gets out of control with newbies then we can just put it back up!

I have to agree.

Playing elims were always fun when there was no TWL, it kept me playing and ranking actually had competition. Even if mods somehow get control of the robo ref's it won't make it any more populated, which would have to consider merging the elims (which I don't think anyone wants again.)

If it's robo ref controlling the usage requirement and we can't contact priitk to update the bot, couldn't a new bot be programmed from scratch? I don't know anything about programming but I'm going to guess it's not that hard to program a bot to tally votes, spec at 10 and keep a very simple rating system. We've got drastically more complex bots running TWD. Oh and yeah, I'm all for removing the usage req

doubt something will happen but the bot does not regulate usage- it's done through the arena itself, for the record

agreed, remove it what can it hurt? nothing at all and now the new players will actually be able to try something new when they see ?go elim instead of u need this many hours to play....

Its done via the arena configuration files, and I've removed them for both elim and baseelim. I agree with most of the above points, namely that it was put in place during a time when multi-name creation to hunt high ranks, and to get ranked, were an all time high. Nowadays, no one even bothers to create multiple names to rank anymore. Its also good that new players introduced to the game can actually get a taste of the elims.
