  • English help required, thank you.

    Hello,

I wanted to create the username "Beowolf Agata", based on a character in a book by Robert Ludlam.

For some reason I could not do so while logging into TW, it said this name contents restricted language for this zone (or something like that).

I created 3 different names and activated them by logging into another zone, I created Agata, Beowolf And Beowolf Agata.

Then I tried to enter TW with these names, I could enter with Beowolf, I could enter with Agata but I couldn't enter with Beowolf Agata - Again it said it was restricted in TW.

I'm not a native English speaker but I've asked people who are and they have no idea why would this name be restricted.
If anyone has a clue or an assumption on why it is so, please reply, thanks a lot!

    Anton.

prolly what rudy said. . .
on another note, beowulf was a myth in medieval britain. a viking king who slayed a dragon and did some other stuff. . .

sometimes it is just interesting to see how things interconnect and where their roots come from

Yeah, Beowulf was the germanic hero who slayed a dragon with the help of his companion Wiglaf and than died from the wounds. Woop de doo day.

Needless to say, Siegfried did it better.

Germanic hero? He was from Sweden :P

If interested, read Seamus Heaney's translation of it. It's bilingual with Old English (Anglo-Saxon) on the left side and modern English on the right side of each opening.

We had it in english class. as a text in old english. ( ßa ßodan siðe and some other weird stuff ) First he slayed a monster.. and when while he was at it he slayed the mother too. Then he was king of some tribe for about 50 years. and when he was about 60 he went to slay a dragon. the dragon wounded him by putting his fangs in his body, Wiglaf attacked the dragon, not much damage done cept that beowulf was released, beowulf, with all the strenght he had managed to drill threw the hard scubs of the dragon and killed it, couple of days after that Beowulf died from his wound.
Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.
