Intermediate 24 seconds
Expert 86 seconds

I agree that anything under 5 seconds for beginner requires an easy map. I've seen a 1 second time before.

I'd like to say a few words on the resolution change again, despite of all the nice images of Minesweeper.

First of all some people said that you could deselect the wide option on your monitor, which will make you being able to view 1280 x 1024 with a black border left and right. On my monitor I also have that option, but when I select it and go into SS I do not get a clear view, it's not totally sharp and not playable.

Secondly playinging 1280 x 1024 disturbs my game. When I play from a different computer, non-widescreen, I play 10 times better than from my own computer. I see more people tanking shots, at least so it seems, and I not only miss a lot of shots, also do I have more problems with dodging bullets. My whole radaraim is totally gone.

Thirdly I feel I am having a disadvantage because i see less above and below me.

In short: the current situation makes this game no longer fun to play. I'd like to see the res limit removed for all arena's, also for TWD and TWL. If this is not possible - everyone is entitled to whatever he or she thinks about it - I will turn my back on this game.

Hmm, how about you trade/sell your current monitor for a non-widescreen one?

Well, this one is pretty nice. It's an Acer F20 (20 inch) ferrari design, with coax, scart, s-video etc. Wouldn't just toss this thing out just because of subspace. I got this for free after my previous acer (17 inch) died within warranty period. If people here want to stick with old settings, then fine, but I guess that'll be the moment for me to 'move on'. I just don't think it's fair that people talk about 'gaining advantage', it's rather about doing something about my disadvantage here.

i wish someone would do something about my disadvantage too. like suggest i buy a new monitor, which is what ALL the suggestions, on both sides of the argument, have digressed to.

That being said, it seems a good many people have legitimate concerns over their hardware not working well with continuum. I think it is time to allow the widescreen equivalent of 1024x768 as a compromise. This way you can't play with the "extra" space on the sides you get with the 1400x900 setting, but you can still play w/o distortion.

Actually, you might be able to play on this setting already now that i think about it. Why not just step down your resolution a bit so that you can play undistorted? Yeah it sucks not being able to pay on full resolution, but it's not distorted, and you're actually on par with anyone on a 15" monitor anyway. I haven't played on 1200x800 in a year, and yes i do notice i'm affected by lag shots and strays a lot more than before, but that is part of the game.



And if you're not willing to do that, then you must have some ulterior motive. I say this because you're complaining that the screen is distorted, and that it's unfair to have to play on a distorted screen. The suggestion i've proposed allows you to play undistorted, while keeping you under the maximum resolution on place. (yes i know it's less pixels total, but that's beside the point)

from the middle ages? fuck you, i have to play on it, and it's the 2nd best resolution you can have. Plus, it's a legitimate way to "fix" your problem without putting those people from the "middle ages" at more of a disadvantage. The game doesn't work for mac users, should we accomodate for that increasingly popular technology too?
