Too many factors such as resolutions, LAG, fps, would make the tournament unfair. Modern day cash tournaments are done on LANs aren't they? I don't think we could set up a place or time for people to meet and play ss for cash. Plus, since this thing is pretty anonymous, whoever is entrusted the money might dip out if the pot's really large.
There was someone who tried to do it but it turned out to be fake. He wouldn't give the money to Pure_Luck and he had tried the same scam on other zones, for what I don't know. Maybe trying to steal paypal accounts or identity theft.
There's a lot of variables as Nuggets outlined but it might be something to consider for next season of TWL. It would never be in the form of a pot, meaning people wouldn't pay into it or be required to pay to play. That's asking for too much trouble. There's also the issue of who gets the money at the end, some squads can have many leaders.
If a squad wins money, fairly dividing the money up will be a nightmare and everyone will get next to nothing.
If there were cash-prized games and such, there would be money put into advertising this game, that's what I'd rather see, but that's not here.
I don't think cash-prize will be as productive as advertising, solely because it's based on existing players who will stay in the game anyway whether there is money offered or not, simply because they are hooked to this 2D game which they can't seem to leave because they haven't yet won a TWL title, and even if they have they want to win another one because they think it's "ez".
Off-topic slightly but, you get the idea. Plus, DankNuggets kinda had a point the first time, although if we had a responsible person in charge of finances, and also some other fixes to this system then it could possibly go ahead. I don't think so though.

1: Pandagirl!> How about "lol"
1: winipcfg> despite "lol"'s versatility, I don't think that'd be good in the situation
If you can't beat them, eat them. ?go zombies3 - Chao <ER>
dank's point about fairness begins and ends the argument right from the start. if you're giving out cash prizes, you have to play on a lan where everyone participating is sitting in the same room with no way to cheat.
otherwise, you're essentially paying people for being clever enough to not get caught. clever people should be able to make some dough via other methods.

yeah was going to say, didnt that weird hasta!! coondog do that fake one..
you always run the risk of it being fake unless one of the more respected players in the zone is prepared to take the time to organise it all and distrubute/collect the money
