As a bot developer, I'll have to say that it's a tough balance between allowing freedom in hosted events, while at the same time providing what I'd call an "advanced feature set" that can deliver more than the traditional form of hosting can muster. On one hand hosts have to keep it original, keep doing more than the same thing with 10 year old spaceships in order to keep populations in check. On the other, you can't get too far out with even basic bot design where the human element is entirely destroyed, and where hosting becomes more about pushing a button than chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, and shootin' some b-ball outside of the school, when a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, and said, "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "FRESH" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything, I can say that this cab is rare, but I thought, 'Naw, forget it' -- "Yo homes, to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and yelled to the cabbie, "Yo homes, smell ya later!" I looked at my kingdom: I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air.

Nonsense, my boy, makes the world go 'round, tired or otherwise. I think that an awful joke gets quite a bit more awful past its age -- like wine to vinegar. This is the only point at which there is sufficient irony to justify its retelling after several years of already being stale, particularly in an unexpected and unwelcome way: Trench Wars forums being an excellent ground for this.
