elfbot and the damage done :(
i am sure you guys have had an ear full regarding the new robo in elim.. "elfbot" .. id like to remind you of some of the issues this bot has been having and hope to get a reply as to what kind of actions you guys have purposed, when and if the bot is just bugged..lol.
1. 7 players are in elim ready to play. 2 enter, 5 wait to see what the vote will be before they come out of spec.. elim voting starts, messages sent via elimalert and game is preparing to ready. of the 2 players that entered to begin with, one is called away and has to leave arena. that leaves one player in game 5 still waiting for vote. heres the problem, elfbot declares the remaining ingame player winner of the match however voting continues, elfbot now locks everyone else out of the game. the one player in-game specs and the game cycles through untill it declares that not enough players are in the game and cancels.. the huge problem is, of the 6 players that remained, 4 of them got confused and went somewhere else, or logged altogether. the cycle only takes about a minute, but it sure makes a lot of our players angry. on to the next elf glitch
2. voting is screwed up with elfbot. ive seen 3 people vote on a game of 1, no one else voted.. elfbot decides to use his political power to overturn the vote and makes it elim to 10. same goes with regular voting. some players votes aren't even registering with elf.. one player will vote 10 and two others will vote 5.. elf uses his ballot tampering powers and counts only the 10 vote. ive noticed that if you can get your vote in right as elf asks "how many deaths" that vote will most likely decide what the game will be. ive considered the possibility that people are pm'ing the bot with their vote, but i tested this early one morning when two of us were starting a game. we both voted in public chat, and still the demigod elf decided our votes of 1 were not worthy and made the game a 10 death match. very frustrating.
3. aside from being locked out from entering when elf gets confused, or death voting being a waste of time, elfbot has had some issues of either leaving, or shutting down in the middle of a match. whoever is sill in-game when the bot does this are stuck in elim limbo. no matter how many times players are killed, the bot will not declare winners nor spec the losers. they go on forever, or untill everyone specs and the bot is restarted.
ELIM is fun and should be played for what it is, a survival match. players please do not try to anger the new guys, and dont wine and cuss someone who happens to get a lame kill from you. remember, it is just a game, and most matches only take 5 mins.. join ?chat=elim and be notified when matches start and go duel for a few mins. we have to remember that "newbs" are here to have fun, not ratings. dont make them feel like subspace is a horrible place to visit, ive seen people quit because of the shit talkers, not just in elim but other event arenas.. staff may consider trying to tighten the spam policy. if the words noob, lagass, spawn, or anything else is used more than once in 30 seconds, warn or disconnect. i invite many people to try continuum, and it really upsets me to see new members say that they are quitting. lets be a little more mature and die with honor. :0 have fun today!! thanks
