  • Casino in TW

I think it would be awesome to instill a casino type arena in Trench Wars (or any zone for that matter.)

It could be any competition ranging from any typical deathmatch, squadmatch, zombies to hockey, flagging, basing- you name it!

An example of the betting in a deathmatch would have each player become an actual pro as he enters each competition with money on the line. Winner (sole survivor) of each game will be given a percentage of the pot, while the rest is given to "house" (funding for trench wars/continuum development). Side bets of the same game can be handled much the same way with given betting sequences such as possible MVPs, ending W-D score of winning player, or even lagouts!

Players can register and pay online while given a receipt code that can be given to bots in-game which will allow the player to enter so-and-so many games as he payed for. For example: If a single deathmatch game is $5 (USD) and a person pays $50 dollars to register, he will be given a ticket that he can show to running bots in-game. He'll be able to play 10 deathmatches whenever one is running that is able to accumulate more than $100 of a pot so that %15 ($15 or more) is always collected for regular maintainance of the game. Each person who is registered will have a bank with TW that can be accessed any time via debit mastercard ($weet) as one will be shipped out per registration like a simple money card or gift card.

It will only be restricted to a single arena where only people who register can enter. Those who play often will be given status such as Platinum or Diamond. Somebody call PriitK and tell him the potential $$$ in this idea, plz? k thnx.

AND YES YOU CAN BUY TRENCH WARS GIFT CARDS AT YOUR LOCAL CONTINUUM GIFT SHOP! O-M-G!

All for new proposition, say: "AI", including a brief but thurough explanation.
All against new proposition, say: "NAY", including why you shouldn't be slapped.

except that would be illegal in most US states. most types of gambling where a third party (a 'house') is illegal in the states. It's different when there's no third party, but this type is far to complicated and impossible to distinguish in-game for it to happen legally.

Not only that you would be committing a federal offence. I know quite a few non-us citizens involved in internet gambling have been arrested on entry to the us.

Unfortunately as long as US citizens are involved i would want no part of any online gambling scheme as i would like to be able to visit/change planes in the us without fear of being arrested. Not to mention that TW's server is in US soil...

So basically unless its for play money.... No....the jail time aint worth the risk.

Gambling is legal as long as there's an agreement

An example? All of Kimbo Slice's fights (youtube them) were for money. It was a gamble. There was an agreement. Police can't prosecute them if they've agreed that there is a chance one can lose money, whether it was a verbal agreement, signed agreement, or acted agreement.

              I can see it happening!

Me at work: "OMG I can't wait to get home and play subspace. It's like my second job!"
and in the future: "Alright alright. Time to go to work." <logs into trenchwars>

Incorrect. Games of skill are not illegal to gamble upon, whereas games of luck (IE. anything using cards or dice) are regulated. If you are playing something with no randomness to be account for, it is perfectly legal to gamble upon (assuming you are 18 years of age or older.) My business is partnering up with a website that allows gambling on videogames, that's how I know all this.

In other words, it'll bring back (possibly) some inactive players and attract new audiences. (You know how hard it is to get someone to "devolve" from 3D games in general to a 2D shooter?) All we got to do is make sure random damage bullets are off, and we're set! I say Yahoo! will be interested in partnering up with PriitK and his company of programmers and designers, whom would return possibly as a part-time job to earn money on the side, and everyone'll be happy! OMFG! The idea is making me shiver with excitement. Hold me somebody.
