Wouldn't it take effort TO have them instead of not at this point? I think the justification for having them is required. I like that this forum isn't spammed with everyone trying to show off some lame ass forum signature. The few that are already here are annoying enough.

Forums have functioned fine without them for a while. Do people want/need pointless images at the end of EVERY post?

Flashing/animated sigs can be controlled by limiting the .gif format.
Large MB sigs can also be limited with a size limit.
Large scale sigs can be limited with resolution limits.
