Make democratic public everywhere. The levi sub game shouldn't be feeding on people trying to base. If you want to lev ter go play turret wars, public is not the place for you.
It's pathetic to pretend that a lev ter in general is a member of the team;
it holds itself too delicate to protect flag room at all times so it will ultimately flee.
the bombs are too powerful for inside flag room, so it will always result in extra team kills.
you can't both have sharks in flagroom entrance and levi shooting the tubes. Since the levi shoots on too low intervals it's not sufficient defense and so it disables your teams defense.
most of the times a levi will just green on your frequency and then screw you over by changing to private. I can't believe you think that people should put up with that pathetic backstabbing behaviour.
So you wonder why people vote to disable levis? Even in pub, where people play to enjoy the game, go figure, most people don't want levis around. Public with levis by definition is not free. If you want to base you are automatically sucked into the sub game "chase the levi terr all around, but never in, base".
To say that over 40 people would have to move specifically to a different pub to play a 'public game' just for the enjoyment of 6 is backwards reasoning.
To say that during peak times, 60 people have to try and push themselves into an arena that only holds 40 spots (max!) to play a 'free game' is plain stupidity.
You can't compare public with ?go base either. Well you could, but you will find that they are totally different. Public pure basing is much more intense, it's bigger and harder. And when team killing is reduced it's the best place to be.
The voting system makes this clear once again, there's no room for levis amongst the mayority. I'm sorry for the parasites.
I suggest that you make a third pub where levis are free to go and shoot at an empty base and turn sides on themselves.

The reason why the impure pub is good is precicely becaue it discorages camping in base. It encorages you to go outside and hunt down people and kll them. It gives somewhere you can practice your dueling and laming skills. It also gives you time to chat. Its very hard to find somewhere to warm up in wb when private freqs are disable in all the pubs due to voting.
Which is why we should go back to the old 3 pub system circa 2004-2005 when pub was much more popular with a few tweaks.
1st pub pure-timed
2nd pub impure (no restrictions of any kind)
3rd pub pure-untimed private freqs enabled

pub 0 is all about levis, private freqs and no timed games, but now with the new voting system, pub 0 has turned the opposite. I am by no means against the voting system, but leave pub 0 alone :crying: . If you don't, im gonna have to murder you all -.- :death:
to add to that, i think all pubs should be timed. It gives people something to do as far as teamwork and basing.
If all pubs were timed, and everyone went to base, levis would be stupid. They would be able to take the whole fr out in one shot, and getting rid of levis would cause lots of controversy. Lots of people only play levi. :sadoldsmi

Well, that's kinda what i meant. If people are basing, then yes, a levi could kill the whole fr in one shot. That's the incentive to the LTs. The timed flag game is the incentive to the basers. With both sides having an incentive to play, hopefully the overall action of the arena picks up.
I think you'll agree that it's not nearly as fun to LT if there's no one to kill.
I personally liked it when both pubs were timed, and only one was levi-free. However, I do like the new voting system (aside from the min. votes; shouldn't reward apathy). I actually haven't seen it where levis are totally restricted in both pubs yet, though I have seen javs and weasels restricted fairly often.

put what if one team has a few levis, and the other freq has none? this would make the game unfair

javs should never be restricted, they are a part of the team, just like wb,spid, and lanc(fighting ships, whatever there called)
also, when javs are restricted and you try to get into jav but you cant, when a jav leaves, and there is a spot for you to jav, the bot should tell you there is a free spot. Yesterday i was desperately trying to get into jav, then some kid came into the arena, he pressed esc+2 and he got in jav straight away. It's not like i can continually press esc+2.

When you type !listvotes you should be able to see the list and the numbers of each thing you can start a vote for, so you know what vote you want to start when the time is up, instead of it saying something like "there was a vote started 3 minutes ago, please wait another 2 minutes". There is no harm letting people see the voting lists, sure i will probably memorize each vote soon and its number soon, but i don't play much and don't have many chances to type !listvotes in the time the 5 minutes is over, and a new vote has started.

Here are the few issues I've seen so far that I think need to be addressed.
The wording is sometimes confusing. Simple enough to change.
Sometimes ship restrictions are passed but the bot doesn't enforce them.
Private frequencies are warped into the flag room directly on top of public frequencies. Private frequencies shouldn't be warped at all, this screws up the public frequencies basing and the private frequencies doing whatever it is those freaks do.
The bot warps frequencies into the safes but not the ears sometimes.
You should always be able to !listvotes so you can see which numbers are assigned to each voting topic.
A way to stop people from using a pointless !startvote to filibuster. There have already been a couple of suggestions in this thread to fix this.
Did I miss any other problems specifically with the bot/voting system?
(ZaBuZa)>sigh.. i been playing this game since i was 8... i am more mature then ull ever be...
That's a good summary by Kontrolz. I'd also like to add:
Let anyone call any vote, irrespective of his voting history. Right now, if you vote to restrict javs and then later want to unrestrict them, you can't do it ("That option is already the way you want it!"). Why not? Why even bother keeping track of someone's voting record?
For example, let's say I want to restrict javs to curb the teamkilling or shuffle the team arrangement. I also want private frequencies disabled to discourage LT treachery. But then later I decide I want to jav. That means I need to either unrestrict javs, or enable private frequencies so I can jav on my own. But I can't even call for those votes, since I voted for the current state.
