What to do in Trench Wars when you don't play Distension?

I don't see why people give so much of a damn about distension. I don't enjoy playing it, therefore I just don't play it. It's a successful event, so people must be enjoying it a lot - I can't see how you can criticize that. In fact I think it should be applauded.

For those saying it's killing pub or such, I think most of the people playing it wouldn't go to pub when distension is over anyway. That's more of a clue that pub should be improved rather than removing distension or whatever.

I'm not pro or anti-distension really, so I'm happy to see arguments either way.

Why is distension in TW anyway? It's not like pub nor it's an event. It should be its own zone. And Im not arguing if it's fun or not, thats besides the point.

Purepub has been busted for the last couple of days or so. RoboBoy/Girl may come in briefly, but as of right now, there are basically two levi pubs and no timer.

Correlation is not causation, but it seems like every time Distension runs, the bots break. In this case, I'll concede it might be because Maverick did some requested bot stuff so people could rig their own practice games, and maybe some vital cords got tripped on in the process.

Zerzera's point is that there is a dedicated contingent of players who love purepub and not so much the levi pub or Distension, and that contingent gets shafted often, in terms of bot breakage and repair time. Which, as 404 points out, leads to player attrition in our already dying game. It would be nice to get more lovin' for purepub - that's what we're saying.

There's nothing that stops ER's from hosting during distension AFAIK, in fact I see them advertising during it all the time. Base is down? It's only up when there's enough people to play... would you want to play 2 on 2?


I played purepub the other day, I don't know what makes you think it's been down... It's the same as it's always been, just that it's not pub 0, it's the 2nd pub in the list.

Maybe you meant people have been asking to switch pub 0 to the purepub and make the Levi pub the 2nd one? I'll get back to you later today after I look through the interviews I've conducted and let you know what the ppl in pub have been asking for. Off the top of my head, the ususal reponse to 4) Which pub(s) should allow levs? goes along the lines of "all", "just one", and a few "none", in that order. I don't think ppl care too much whether it's the first or second pub, as much as they care that at least one pub has levis.

So it's Europe's peak time in Trench Wars on a Friday night. No basing in public (there's a public of 40 but it has.. brb counting: 8 levi's and 3 LT's) base is down and no events are hosted.

Except of course Distension which receives daily dedicated hosting like no actual Trench Wars events.
