Depends what lag limits are used. This just makes me feel like twel play offs. And every twel playoffs Ive been in, I got put against a 300ms laggot who beat me. When I had a modem with 300 ms lag, Id drive people crazy in duel and in most events so I can understand the lag issue from both sides.

I wouldnt pay money to take part in an event that I feel there is a big likelihood I would be beat because of a laggot. Even though I wouldnt claim the prize anyway.

Unforunately it's hard to declare the line with lag limits. Although if able, I think 200-250 will be a good limit with 2 lag outs. It should be announced before the tournament begins that connections should be kept in check before the tournament begins and it is not our fault if you are put out due to your own lag. If the lag limit is put too low, people will have small spikes at times and will be kicked out when they aren't truely laggots. This is just something we have to keep an eye on and do our best to moderate. I will do everything in my power to make sure this tournament is fair.

I would definitely join the Javelin 1 versus 1 tournament (and possibly 2 versus 2 if I would get a good partner with me) - $5 is nothing when you think about it.

None the less, sounds like a fun idea. Just need to keep an eye on the lag.

I think this is a terrible idea. That said, if it works out, more power to you.

Due to risk with bots and fear of the event crashing because of the bot being overloaded and stressed, I have decided this event should be done in multiple heats and the winners of those heats have a small tournament to decide the tournament winners afterwards. I will make sure there are no "by"s in the tournament and everyone has to win an equal amount of matches.

This is how I'd wanna see it go down...

Take the field and play them in ?go tourny. The arena is already set up to prevent flagrant lag abuse in some cases as well as spawn protection. I also know there is a maximum of 64 players 1v1 or 64 teams of 2 able to play per round. This being said, if there are more than 64 entrants, we'll have to split the field into an even two or more "heats". The winners from the heats will fight each other in the Grand Finale.

The entry fee should be no more than $5 over PayPal.

The Lag Situation is probably the most touchy subject. I can go "Nobody over x amount of ping" and people will riot about being blocked out. Is it fair? Not exactly to the people who can't play, but the ones in, yes. That's one idea on the table. I don't know how paypal works, but I don't think we can open this up to people outside the United States anyways unless Paypal converts currency without penalty.
