I'm not sure why people are saying "I vote..." because it doesn't matter what you vote. You don't own the game, none of us do, Priitk has the say if he wants to actually sell the game. He doesn't play the game anymore and it's been nothing but a little stub on the end of his bill, so I don't see why he wouldn't sell it, unless for nostalgic reasons.

I agree with the person that made the point about so many people playing though, one thing these other games don't have that continuum has is that you actually get to know some people in this game. In games with 10,000+ people playing you won't see the same person twice for awhile.

I don't really think much will come from this, if they decide to make a clone it probably won't really be close enough to SS for players here to go and play it. And even if it is a pretty close clone, like others I suspect there's some business motive behind it.

Speaking on this cloning topic.. I came from a game, Silent Death, which was a much more developed 2D game. Needless to say, the game died 10 years ago. They have just recently put together an alpha version of the game, three years in the making. I have watched two other projects, with good funding, start and fail in the past eight years. Based on the opinions gatherd by those developers, these 2d games are not as simple to clone as one may think. In my opinion, If they really had the ability or desire to clone a game such as Subspace they would have already done it. They are obviously trying to make hostile threats to persuade the right people to basically hand over a free game, bring a "100,000" population to it, charge a P2P fee and make a crap load of money off of a game that cost them a small amount of overhead. Call me crazy, but this is similar to what EA did to AOL games some 12 years ago. I really don't think we have anything to fear by turning this offer away, with everything to fear by accepting it. From the look of their offer, they want the ability to completely control the game and the zones in it.

There is absolutely no point in giving in, if I wanted to play a game with 100,000+ people I would have left this game. Oh hey, look at trenchwars, there are nearly 300,000 people playing it, yippee. All it would do is simply break the tight bonds we have forged in this small game of ours. I for one say "Nay" to this decision, and feel that, by declining this man's offer, we in-turn strengthen the love and respect we have for each other.
