    I agree with the above.

Seems like kind of BS, I wouldn't expect this kind of talk from a CEO to a very small tight-knit community. Who is he trying to impress?

There is absolutely no point in giving in, if I wanted to play a game with 100,000+ people I would have left this game. Oh hey, look at trenchwars, there are nearly 300,000 people playing it, yippee. All it would do is simply break the tight bonds we have forged in this small game of ours. I for one say "Nay" to this decision, and feel that, by declining this man's offer, we in-turn strengthen the love and respect we have for each other.

    p.s. no homo

And to stay on topic: Xog you faggot now RapidShare isn't going to make Continuum awesome with like 100,000 players and shit.
You know, I didn't mess anything up for us. Their request was already denied by the council way before I emailed them. All I did was email rapidshare's support address and ask if they were real emails from the CEO, calm down plz. i did nothing to you

Yeah, I made this band, I'm the CEO. My buddy back there on the drums is the CFO and that bass guy is the COO. You could call us a capitalist band, heh.

Hmmm, yes, a very important subject. Let me avert this topic to my COO (secretary) for this project in acquiring a video game license.

I agree with the person that made the point about so many people playing though, one thing these other games don't have that continuum has is that you actually get to know some people in this game. In games with 10,000+ people playing you won't see the same person twice for awhile.

I don't really think much will come from this, if they decide to make a clone it probably won't really be close enough to SS for players here to go and play it. And even if it is a pretty close clone, like others I suspect there's some business motive behind it.
Speaking on this cloning topic.. I came from a game, Silent Death, which was a much more developed 2D game. Needless to say, the game died 10 years ago. They have just recently put together an alpha version of the game, three years in the making. I have watched two other projects, with good funding, start and fail in the past eight years. Based on the opinions gatherd by those developers, these 2d games are not as simple to clone as one may think. In my opinion, If they really had the ability or desire to clone a game such as Subspace they would have already done it. They are obviously trying to make hostile threats to persuade the right people to basically hand over a free game, bring a "100,000" population to it, charge a P2P fee and make a crap load of money off of a game that cost them a small amount of overhead. Call me crazy, but this is similar to what EA did to AOL games some 12 years ago. I really don't think we have anything to fear by turning this offer away, with everything to fear by accepting it. From the look of their offer, they want the ability to completely control the game and the zones in it.

Staff as it is today would be an impossibility. Rudy for an example. Regardless of his fine work for TW and SS, his attitude wouldn't work out if the game was owned and actively run by an active company (this goes for the majority of TW and SS staff).

    Amusing idea none the less.

I didn't read up anything about this so I may be speaking out my ass. If this is anything like the EA > AOL take over, the staff will be employees of the company, or hired by them through the game. If they buy the rights to the game, the zones could be under their control as well right?

also i very highly doubt cellphones will actually be cellphones, they'll be UMIDs, mini fully functional windows OS internet things, about the size of psp +their screens, and fold down with a comfortable size keyboard.

f you dont believe me, check out whats already out such as wibrain at dynamism.com with it's 4.8 inch screen that plays 1024 resolution no problem. you can even turn it vertical without distorting too much to play because continuums resolutions are flexible.

I know it's not the Wibrain, but its pretty cool :P

    Also... instead of laptops.. HANDtops!?

Toshiba has been more well known for computers than mobile phones, but they made a big splash at MWC 2009 when they announced their TG01, the first major device to run Qualcomm's Snapdragon CPU on a mobile platform. An incredibly fast 1GHz CPU, coupled with a 4.1 inch 800x480 resolution display (the largest display size in a mobile phone so far) that supports DivX and Flash, the TG01 will be ready right out of the box to play your favorite movies in just about any format as well as YouTube and other streaming Flash web videos and even play games.

Built on the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform and featuring a unique color coordinated home screen organization system Toshiba developed, the TG01 is gearing itself to be the perfect device to use for both work and play when it is released later this year.
