False. My style of play is to kill as much as possible, not to get high bounty, W/L ratio, or stay alive a long time. I don't care about death. A TK might get a "fuck u" out of me now and then, but never an enemy bullet.

There is at least one player who really hates getting killed by lanc, and I switch to lanc to kill him. :grin:

Being lamed by a weasel is part of the game and it is *supposed* to be annoying. That little adrenalin rush you get from being killed 'unfairly' helps prevent the game becoming bland and boring.

It also gives people another way to get back at players who are using equally lame tactics. Vengeance is part of the game too.

The same thing applies to LTs but there is a difference: A levi blast is a wholesale lameness that can easily kill basing games and there is no ship you can switch to that can kill a wary LT easily. Even without terriers, large numbers of levis can kill basing. It may well have been easier and more fun to LT way back but LTs are still popular and still racking up cheap kills at the expense of battling basers. Unlimited levis and basing are not very compatible. Hence purepub.

Weasels are weak and can be easily killed or avoided by many ships. They may well spoil the fun of an individual player if they are bloody-minded enough but the current weasel is just not powerful enough to wreck a whole style of play.

The public arenas should continue to support as many different styles of play as reasonably possible including cloaking.

Weasels are just another ship we love to hate.

TW settings already have several important aspects of the game removed. Removing cloaking and/or stealth would catalyze our isolation.

Our players also eagerly remove one important aspect: Teamwork!
Why don't you co-operate with your friendly neighborhood baseterrier..? I'm guessing you'd rather hug the lower safe and snipe off things in spawn.

I think we should allow all ships in all pubs and reduce the safetytimer to 5-10 seconds.

I mostly only cloak in pub, because there are a shitload of levis who needs to die the lamest possible death.

Someone has to be the voice of reason for the people who don't have a chance to post their opinions and thoughts regarding the matter.

PS: I agree with Kontrolz, but better yet just bring back pub the way it was 8 years ago, in all of its levitering, laming, glory. There might be a short time of people whining but it will be for the over all good, especially if we get any new players. Also forbid the use of robohelp to answer help calls in public arenas, talking to newbies one on one should be our number one priority, especially when there are thousands of other options on games to play out there, that is one thing that we can do differently, is not make players talk to bots 24/7.

First of all, if you are a warbird, it's easy to evade a weasel indefinitely. Just use the arrow keys. With treachery, guile, and clever use of asteroids, you can even bait and kill them without being able to see them.

If you're being stalked by someone who is always changing ships to kill you, there are a few things you can do. Change ships only when they cannot see you on their screen - watch the F2 box, make a ?spec macro, etc. The terrier is about the best you can do with a ship change feud. Hang out with your teammates, in a busy part of the map, near walls so you can burst, etc.

Truth be told, if your bounty was 278 in pub, it almost certainly means you were playing like an obnoxious pussy, firing safe or low-percentage shots from afar and fleeing at the first sign of possible combat. You probably needed to die anyway, and it's probably someone who didn't want to play Subspace Atari with you (radar only) and got tired of trying to run you down. If that's the case, please take a moment to think about how horrible this game would be if everyone played like a pussy. Subspace Atari on 2 inch screens.

Finally, the current weasel is near worthless, slow with slow bullets and cannot fit through holes. It was maliciously changed on the whim of a staffer who hated the weasel and who sought to make players stop playing it (he succeeded). So you almost already have what you are asking for, and if the last several months are any indication, pub settings are unlikely to be changed. Check the small weasel petition thread to see how many more people like (or used to like) the weasel and want it to be both more useful and less lame like it was before.

Wark, most of that bot crap came after private arena basing and ?go base (except pure basing weekends). It was basers trying to make publics more like a bd. Problem is the bot/rules aren't what made ?go base so much fun, it's the quality of players.

So we end up with pseudo-go base which kills the lt population and much of the warbird population in publics. This still wasn't as good as ?go base though so the good players still rarely played public over a bd or ?go base.

I think the best thing to have ever hit publics was !vote. I loved being able to get rid of levis if they became too annoying to the basing. And, I had no problem with people disabling the timed game and allowing levis. If the majority of people want something then so be it. I like the idea of modeling publics into a democracy.

In short, bring back !vote

Hint: Threatening to quit a game because you don't get your way is basically blackmail. If we do what you want there are 30 cloakers who like cloaking in public arenas that might quit because you got your way. You can't look at things from only one point of view, you have to look at how it will effect the game as a whole. That is the problem with a lot of people and the ideas they have. So although this won't happen and you might quit, we might save the other players who like cloaking from quitting, and the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. It isn't like 90% of the pubbers know how to or are willing to sign up to a forum account for this game to argue their case either.

Yhaa I never been clokaed before during my year and this one time made me write this on the forum that I spam with shit everyday aswell.

No thats not the real story.. I dont visit these forum much at all cos moste are troll and morons trying to act the moste 1337 and really belive some would care.

I wrote it cos last months it's been pontless to even try to have fun as a wb around safe areas, cloaks always goes there to fuck up our game play, some of the morons can sit in safe for 30 mins and just wait for some of us to stop hunting them and then go cloak they guy with moste bty again... its not about playing cloaker now it only about fucking up game play for the players playing a wb or trying to have fun outside base, and thats a big problem.

I know Iam a old school rule player but this behave isent even close to retarded game play but more like a sport to make good players get pissed cos they cant play the game any more as they hade in many years, and then they leave this game and I soon join them.
I dont like to give something up easy, but now alot of fun good players left, and I dunno what todo but to write this shit on the forum atleast trying to get a change but iam pritty sure no one give a shit about this game or pub any more.
