One thing I never really figured out

I realize this is kind of an inconsequential point to make, but...

Everyone has tons of chats right... and in EVERY chat you see like 10 of the 15 people in them AFK... and these people AFK and NEVER log off trenchwars.

I don't understand why people do that. If you are leaving, then why don't you just log off? For instance, you always have to ask "HEY, SO AND SO, ARE YOU HERE?" in chats before speaking, because most likely they are always afk... and then you have to PM them half the time and even then they won't respond...

Plus, you try to get a TWD game and you have to mass pm a count to get a game, because you might have 10 in chat, but 7 of them will be afk and never log off. I just find that pointless.

So my question is this: Why don't you guys just log off? How hard is it to esc q? I mean I realize if you are on a new name and you wanted 36 hours for elim... go ahead and afk for a day or two to get the hours...

but there isn't a usage limit anymore since a lack of players nowadays... and so I just don't see the reason to afk like that... or even a need for an afk arena that allows it

This may be a stupid question and topic to even discuss... but its just something I've never been able to figure out in all my years of playing.

There are a few reasons.

People like to keep ?logs. Staying online means never missing a moment.

People see ?usage as pride. Like pascone when he went over his 25,000 hour mark.

People are just too lazy to esc+q.

That is pretty much the main reasons.

I log off when I leave, SS gives out viruses to AFKers. It's true, I seen it on Dateline.

I usually leave up SS all day, because I sit in front of my laptop at random times of the day. Also, I leave it up just out of habit of being logged in.

Not exactly. It's not that I'm too lazy to esc+q, it's mostly because I'm too ADD to sit in front of the computer for a long time. I just leave it up all day because I'm online for 10 minute spurts randomly throughout the day. Essentially the only reason I open it in the first place is from habit, and the reason I leave it up is because I leave my computer.
