left = index

LEFT HAND
index is on x(bomb)
middle is on z(bullet)/a(attaching)
ring is on shift

RIGHT HAND
forward - numpad 8(middle)
backward - numpad 0 (thumb)
left - numpad 4 (index)
right - numpad 6 (ring)

moving backwards is as natural as moving forward, with these controls. It's really worth it

Having a French keyboard I have to keep the numpad on for shipchanges, so can't really use the keypad properly Also Continuum can't distinguish the Right Ctrl and Left Ctrl on french keyboards (sucks).

Cursor keys for direction.

Left : Index
Up/Down : Middle
Right : Ring

Numpad 0 for reps : Pinky.

Shooting (Ctrl) : Left thumb
Thruster (Shift) : Left ring
Missile (Tab) : Left middle.

Ask vihta how his keyboard is setup. It's crazy but the best config I've heard of. I couldn't use it myself but daaaamn. *_*

Right hand on arrows (and my pinky is not on the numpad insert). Moves to del, ins, home and end to burst, put x-radar, stealth, cloak or multifire on/off. (the ones on top of the arrows, not the ones on the numpad

Left hand, in a tricky position kind of outside the actual keyboard, very comfy though:

thumb left ctrl and left shift. It's a big enough finger to handle two keys . Mostly use it becuase I've never thought of anything else, but it is also handy when sharking cus crtl-shift is rep so I just tap on finger instead of two like you guys obviously do.

index finger tab used to mine and shoot bombs

middle finger on the button over tab (which on my keyboard makes ½ and the law-thingy (whatever it is called in english: §). This is assigned to warp, and shift-§ is laying down a portal.

Third mission for my thumb: the key to the right of shift ( this one: <>| to attach and rocket (with shift-|). I can't make those neat arrows everyone like to do without alt-tabbing but hey, life's a bitch.

RIGHT:

arrow keys: normal index, middle, ring combo
num 0: pinky

eventually if I need something less used my fingers go to the box of 6 keys above arrow keys. (yeah, default)

LEFT:
ctrl: shoot: pinky
shift: thrust: ring
caps: mine: ring or middle (I have weird habits with that )
tab: bomb: middle
f7: attach: middle

Me too ... I have no key changes at all ... and I have to reach to insert/warp out as well as f7/attach ...

Whatever you set your controls as, you'll eventually get used to them and not be able to use any other setup. At first I used basically the defaults, and when I changed to my new setup I had a hard time adjusting. But now I can pwn with these settings, and I'd never be able to use any others.

right hand:

arrow keys and pinky on 0 for insert

left hand for warbird:

index finger on shift thumb on ctrl

left hand for jav:

thumb on shift, index finger on tab and the thumb controls the ass bullets

LOL... i exactly do what you do... xept jav is lil diffrent (thumb ctrl, index rshift, mid tab)

but i think that im gonna change my settings to those of mythrandir... now that makes sense to me

It's too hard to move withi the numpad. Or maybe it's just me.
