I had a somewhat revelatiory moment that got me thinking.

Why are we here? flying around in 2d spaceships. What is the story behind all this, what is "SubSpace" and why is Trenchwars called Trenchwars despite having no acctual trenches. Does anyone know, or have an idea? :fear:

if you take the cross product of the vector {subspace,subspace,subspace} and the vector {0paradise,paradise,paradise}, you get a resultant normal vector, which has values {rocks,at,subspace}

I figure it's a pretty apt name. In trench warfare, both sides dig in and spray each other, and casualties are high. If you can generate enough of a gap, you advance your position and repeat. It's different from other zones and maps because base is the objective (yes, it is), there is one way in/out of the base, and usually one team outside and one team inside, so combat is fundamentally along one axis. Even inside the base, both teams have their side that they dig into, they spray the other side, and casualties are high.

I could definitely see that happening. I'm the only girl in one of my math classes. On the first day someone actually asked me if I was lost.

I made a promise to myself that if I actually start acting like a nerdy actuary I'm changing my major.

Well at least you do make good money... what is it, every test you write gets you up another level and directly makes you more money? And starting is like 100k or something... not too shabby. You do end up selling your soul to the devil (insurance companies) though.
