i outlined this in my resignation post this morning but i'll put it out in the open for everyone else

we're talking about a forum for a game that is 12 years old, contains a player base of less than 1000 and loses another handful of players every single day

if this was a massive forum with tons of activity i would understand toughening up, in fact i'd support that

but the fact is this is a small community and we need to just let some things ride

posting porn in a subforum that's tucked away from most of the masses is one of those things, just delete the porn and move on

that's the way zeus!! handled things because zeus!! understood how important it was to maintain the spirit of the forums, of which ilyaz is a big part

coming in, beating your chest, issuing bans, moving threads (to the wrong forums no less), closing threads, basically throwing out the way the forum has been run for the past seven years and instituting your own set of rules when no one here knows who the fuck you are just isn't going to end well

props for the in-game work but leave the forum to those who know it best and stop trying to push for sweeping changes on something that's working just fine

There are some Mod's that no longer are visiting the forums at all. An overview/re-assesment of the active mod's sounds like a good idea. I am only on during the weekdays for the most part, so at least I can watch and monitor.

I am not sure how active Face and especially Aqua are anymore...in fact I never see Aqua on at all...I think she may be gone?

It was trolling by the manner of the forum topic that created this. It is not as though it was attempting to be hidden in a sub forum.

Do I care about soft porn pics posted? No...although he could have re-sized the pic on one or two to fit the margins of which is also an infraction and also had some better looking women, but that is a different story.

The forum loses people all the time and I just do not see how one 2 week ban on this violation is such a major threat to the population? L1 TW gets banned for less? Not that I am a fan of what L1 TW writes on teh forum either.


So the idea of removing pics posted is not favorable, but perhaps the forum needs to limit the sizing of the pics being posted? In doing so, this can result in either you hosting the pic and directing the image from your own host server/FTP of which would warrant in many cases a re-sizing of the image to conform to the forum image sizing requirments. I am sure that will be too much for the majority of forum users to handle.

Maybe all the rules should just be removed? Then when everyone gets bent out of shape over who said what or posted this about that, there may be even less users on this forum.

I will say this...the ban created a nice spike in forum users today. Nice job TW!

I agree with PH on the level of: "this is an internet forum, who cares?" You're absolutely right. People who don't care will whine a little bit and then never come back. Those people spamming and acting out will eventually be the only ones left, thus making these forums quite unattractive.

Removing the possibility to post pictures on this forum is quite possible the dumbest idea for this forum I've ever read. This will without doubt make this forum way more boring, and it will make a significant impact on general forum activity. Not only are you coming with this completely ridiculous suggestion, but you're also trying to pin the blame on Ilyaz. Make no mistake about this, you are the one we will thank for this when this forum goes to shit. Don't trick yourself into thinking anything else.
