would keeping the current rating system [ (kills / deaths) * average = rating ] but require kills+deaths > 500 to be ranked, work? That's about 25 games total, averaging 10-10 per game, and if you're 0-10 that's a maximum 50 games before you're ranked.

and to keep competition in everyone's mind, have a spash image LVZ display the current top 10 ranking in elim display every time you enter the arena, so everyone's reminded there is a ranking system.

Ah my bad Kthx, i only skimmed through your original post.

Still, as is, it is pretty much a "casual" league, but like you said, those who are at the top of the ranking aren't recognized unless you log onto the website and check for yourself. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea, I am only concerned that people would take it too seriously, which would take away from my vision of belim.

I enter the baseelim arena about 50-100 times a day. I don't think I want a splash image appearing every single time. I don't enter arenas with splash images because they are annoying as fk. Furthermore, I remoeved the splash image when I open continuum with the retarded thunderbolts and red cloud that makes no sense.

All of the new stats TWD tracks would be nice. And for the love of god, please get rid of the stupid fucking weasel elim. It is impossible, and broken(dont always warp to flagroom). If someone insists we have the stupid fucking game, make it so people get uncloaked after x amount of time, or something, because otherwise its an impossible waste of time. All it does is make people leave the arena when they see 10 people in weasel just sitting there hoping someone in spec will tell them when to shoot, CAUSE THERES NO OTHER WAY TO KNOW.

Merging the two elims sounds like trouble. Lots of people could be pissed at that -- but trying it out first in ?go elimbeta may prove differently. It could be quite a bit more fun to have all the javs and wbs talking shit in one spot. :P

I don't know what this old rating system is at all, but it does sound interesting....

Weasel, Levi, Terr, and Shark elims should have some sort of limit (3-5) or possibly be eliminated (x)

I've always thought that the baseelim map should be similar to the JD map...

Could also just display the splash image the first time you go into elim/belim once a day, if that's even possible. If it isn't then I think it's going to be more of a nuisance than anything.

Both events actually used to be merged together. Everyone was complaining that there were too many people voting for one thing and they never got to have fun in the ship they favored most, so they split it up. It's what was requested.

what a load of rubbish :P it was a dev's great idea to split the elims up not due to complaints, which as far as i am concerned ruined elims. Skill level has dropped dramtically for people who can play both ships from before elim was split, and too be honest most of the fun has gone out of playing elim. Yes you used to have perhaps 5/6 jav games in a row, or 5/6 wb games in a row, but elim always had 20+ ppl playing per game unlike now where belim could be full and elim have 5 ppl sitting in spec or vice versa. I know most of you are too new to remember the elims being run in one arena, except for the few vets who still post on forums, but trust me it was a much better enviroment back then.

so all in all merge the elims into 1 arena again, keep things simple.

Yes, I agree Demonic but I figured we could have the best of both worlds by having a bot running a wb and a jav elim at the same time in ?go elim, if thats not possible I am still happy with bringing back the old idea.

I also think there are too many automated events happening at the same time, it doesn't make sense to have 10 different available arenas automated and open for use 24/7 like it did when we have an overflowing populace.

So I would suggest..

1. Condensing the pubs into one pub with a larger base.
2. Merging the Elims
3. Making Wbduel/Javduel weekend only
4. Tourny is pretty much dead, might as well kill that one off and maybe hosted tournaments would draw a crowd again.
5. And I know hockeybot and the new pubtest arenas are being worked on but kill the bots for now, kill the 4th/5th matchbots for twdd/twjd/twbd and kill the 2nd/3rd matchbots for twsd.

I know I have said this probably fifty times on these forums but it seems the playerbase and older members of staff are finally starting to agree with me that this zone doesn't have the population to have our playerbase spread out into fifty side arenas anymore. It is beyond time to run a cleanup of bots and events that don't draw a crowd or aren't being used, limit access to matchbots in certain arenas that might make people decide to play in other leagues while they wait, and once again start making Trenchwars more oriented to player to player and player to staff contact over having to deal with bots. I can't stress enough that the community here is what sets this game apart from the other five hundred thousand MMORPG's and other games available on the internet. But in order to keep the players that try out this game they can't enter the game into a pub with ten people and half of them afk because they don't know how to use the esc + a function. We can't expect people to play in other leagues if they never have to, or don't have any reason to. Javs and Warbirds in the same arena talking shit to one another probably made some warbirds learn jav and vice versa in order to kill the person who was shit talking them.

And last but not least we need an active hosting staff to host good events for the population of the zone instead of the same tired crap. I am not calling anyone out or even mentioning anybodies name that I think does a good job here but there needs to be a Maximum allowed hosting of a particular arena or type of event before the host stops getting credit for hosting that type of event or particular arena. Expose players to a variety of events such as jav events, warbird events, zombies, basing, flagging, etc etc etc etc the list could go on, because you never know when some new player, or even an older player might actually have so much fun in that arena that they decide to start playing again.

Once we kill the automation that splits the playerbase apart, hosts will get more players for their events, which in turn gives hosts more motivation to host events, and eventually you can have hosts who care enough to actually have friendly competition with one another to see who can get the most players for their events like used to happen in the good days. This will breed creativity and better hosting and the zone will flourish if it isn't too late.

This is how you fix the zone.
