wonder how those population totals are buffered by bots? 10 year slopes downward and i bet more bots came online over time. interesting regardless. thanks for the link.

afaik it's about 50-70 bots.

It's in the range of 40-50 bots depending on how many matchbots are online. I don't think there's many more bots on compared to 10 years ago. The number might actually be lower nowadays.

Damn, so this is accurate going back in time?



I find this very interesting. Covid lockdown was in March 2020, which would be that last spike on the chart. It looks like most of those people who came back are all gone. Our population is about where it was at in early 2020. This 6-week season of DT is definitely reflected in the recent population data too and shows how necessary it was to keep people coming back.

It'd be interesting to like plot events in TW with population and see if any of it really matters. Looking at it as a .png it looks like we're basically no longer enjoying the boost from lockdown but also still consistently more active than we were back in 2017.

Edit: Also shoutout Maverick for showing up 10 years later and kicking the box. Sup holmes.
