you were so incapable of communicating the twdt schedule changes that staff members and captains had no clue what was going on and you potentially fucked up the outcome of several matches that would've gone differently if the players had been told when to show up

i don't know what else you do as a staffer/player of this game but you were definitely not a good choice for head of twdt

i agree with moth, cash prizes are really gay and will suck fun out of zone, thank for turning my fav game into a job, now all the players gonna be super duper serious and emo and all hop onto one team

last weekend during the jav tournament, good players were getting ddosed so that they'd lag too much to play. money incentives are going to bring out the worst in people and if the goal is to get more players active, it isn't going to work. people will log on, try to win $50, then log back off when the game is over

The way I see it with the cash prizes is for most people it won't come into play too much, I mean from what I saw on the numbers If you were a three league TWL Captain who started in every single game in all three leagues and won all three leagues you are making 150 dollars or so. I mean thats 13 weeks of playtime for 150 dollars which is enough money to buy yourself a few shirts or a few pair of pants or whatever else you wanted to do with it. But I think the majority of people who play in TWL either have jobs and this money isn't really that big of a deal or are in school and they can use it to buy themselves a few cases of beer and some pizza for playing a game they like to play. Or in Ease's case he could always buy himself a better internet connection for the next TWL. But if you are like me, nothing will change in the way I play or the people I play with play, maybe a few new squads will spring up because of this and if so thats a positive for the zone. And if you happen to win and play in the the league and make for most people around 50 dollars there will be the option to just donate that money back into TW, or donate it to a charity.

So I honestly think you guys are making a big deal about nothing here, its just enough money to take your wife or girlfriend out to a nice dinner for putting up with you playing TWL every Sunday for 13 weeks, it isn't going to turn playing TW into a job or all the sudden make most people who have a chance to win the league (because they are probably older and have played for awhile) freak out and start whining and complaining about play time.

So lets just see how it works, if people hate it maybe next year we can keep TWL pure old school and make TWDT the money tournament, that way nobody can create supersquads or whatever else nightmares you guys are having about it.

the fact that you're blowing off valid points because they're coming from someone who isn't a "veteran" is a horrible fucking attitude for a mod to have, especially if they're trying to help the zone

Imo its the captain his responsibility to check the schedule on the twdt site. Its there for a reason. Your boss aint telling you over and over when you should show to your work either, look at your time-table and you will know. But no you want the TWDT head op to message everyone in game to tell when they are playing. I got more stuff to do.

Well you are technically right Captains and Players should take the responsibility of showing up to games and looking at the schedule themselves, but it really isn't that hard for someone in charge to do a forum post, or do a zoner tuesday/wednesday/thursday about the Sunday league times either. The lack of communication between staff and players on this issue could have been solved very easily with very minimal effort and it would have fixed a problem that never should have occurred.

You are somewhat right moth but it isn't really that outrageous that people who have played this zone for a long time would have a better understanding of how things work in this zone it isn't really an excuse for not listening to you all together but there are some people who have been playing this game for a very long time who I would trust and listen to when it comes to things like TWL and leagues especially over someone who hasn't played for as long.

to summarize:
-if the cash prizes are an attempt to get people to start playing again, the people who would log on to try to win $25 aren't people who are going to stick around because the money is the only thing they give a shit about.
-if the cash prizes are an attempt to get newbies to start playing, that in itself is flawed logic because they're not going to have a chance of winning and this zone isn't going to give them a chance as players.
-if people weren't competitive before, making money a factor in this game has huge potential to make it competitive in a bad way. like i said earlier, last weekend's jav tournament with cash prizes was destroyed because the best players were ddos'd and packeted to the point where they couldn't see their screens over 25 fucking dollars.

imagine what could happen during twl. it's happened in the past WITHOUT money being involved -- it's happened to renzi, it's happened to daldur, and i'm pretty sure it happened to ease last season. turn money into a factor and watch how many players who usually don't lag get locked into spec.

the bottom line is they shouldn't have to be refreshing the twdt site every hour to make sure the scheduled times are still the same scheduled times. you claiming that you were "too busy to inform the players" is absolute horseshit. how long does it take you to type out a zoner? 5, 10 seconds? how much of your time would it have taken you to zoner an announcement -- or get someone else to zoner an announcement -- every once in awhile?

no one is asking you to individually private message everyone on every roster, but even leaving the captains a ?message would've taken less time than it took you to decide to completely fuck up the schedule of the games. make a fucking thread, do a few zoners, communicate better than a paraplegic mute and no one would be blaming you for fucking up.

Ok so a good alternative to this would be to take a little bit of money out of the TWL pot and offer 25-50 dollars for the person who has the most points or earned the most money (not paid for) in pub during the week or month. That way new players have a way to make money without having to have the same learning curve as the people who are going to be making money winning TWL.

I never fucked up the schedule, I never changed any time. So they should never have to refresh the page. Why would we zone the times for TWDT? Players can/do look on the TWL site for the game times, why wouldnt they for TWDT? Prob cuz they are just lazy.
Only one time changed when they were already put down, that was a game the captains of both teams rescheduled, looks to me that its the captain his job to inform his players then and not just me. And 75% of the TW population doesnt even read zone messages, forum messages etc.
