Old pub back?

Ok, well, many people have asked me since I am in dev team now and make a lot of new maps if it would be possible to convince the staff to make the pub as it once was. Well, I can't make this on my own guys, so I decided to make a poll in forums so you can decide whether to have the new pub or put the old one back. I myself would prefer the latter as I started playing this game when it was still in effect and the battles in the old pub arena were much more intense and long. What do you people think and want in the future?

Current map can have hours long battles. Trench Wars better place than ever. But hey, bring the old map for few days in a year, like christmas and so? Could it be done?

The "old maps" wouldn't be able to "fit" in with the current bot. It's not just like one day Witness will decide to fling up a new map...It won't work. -MAYBE- once the work in botdev cools down, we will add methods in the bot to recongnise the current map and evolve the settings around it. The current population won't sustain having a second pub arena. It will just kill the population.

if the old settings are restored permanently and no bot to !buy massive advantage off , post it up on the forums , might even reinstall the game if staff ever see sense

The grey one, Roxx. The really original one that so many of us loved. But as Dez explained, if it can't be implemented into the new system, try to make a similar map to the old one and put it up a few times per year. Should be awesome to play.

Honestly old pub was stale and I never played it. I like new pub: the money system, regulated duels, levterring, killothons and money prizes for different mvps makes the game interesting to me.

Population decline has slowed and new players have been coming into the Zone. Still quite a lot of work to be done but TW keeps on rolling. The only thing that's different is that bitchy "veterans" like you aren't there because you refuse to try anything new and pretend that you have un-installed the game until it goes back to how you like it. If you really have given up on TW, leave completely or do something useful besides acting like your not being there means shit to anyone.

i actualy remember talking to you once ingame one time and encouraging you as you were a new player ... i thought you were alright but not soo much now :P

1) i think you'll find i stopped playing after last TWL so there is no pretending
2) i've used these forums for years and i'm not going to stop cause you say so and i still have an opinion on a game i played for more than any other over 8 years
3) doing something useful could be construed as pointing out the obvious flaws staff are intent on bringing in. Indeed i deem my input useful you do not ,thats the way the world works so you may get used to it
4) i'm well aware that this game is alot bigger than one person and perhaps staff should think of that as a few ppl take it upon themselves to remodel the game in an effort to save it into something entirely different ...
5) if i say something it's becuase i believe in it, i dont say things to lick up to ppl but what i think, too many just suck up or take the view you are either with us or against us ...

There are some guys on staff over the years i have the upmost respect for in keeping this game running and fun, perhaps you should realise that is your purpose and work on that instead of becoming yet another ignorant staffer who thinks staff are beyond mistakes and licks balls and attacks anything questioning their decisions

If you seriously think the old map was better you should just ?go base or something. Spids and sharks dominating the shit out of everything got old fast, as did not being able to base (i.e. play the fucking game) because of the ridiculously overpowered lev.

Going back to old settings and map would be a great way to scare away new people.

Hmmm ... Maybe I got mad a little too quickly upon reading your shit PD because I'm sick and tired of older 'vets' just bitching and moaning and I never see them in the game or it's on TWD chat and they are in ?go afk. Because that's all most of them seem to do at this point, I tend to jump at the opportunity to argue about how neat 'new pub' really is. In this case I didn't even argue, I just went straight to being mad. I think I thought you were someone else when I got all pissed and typed that too, last week was one big blur.

You actually say quite a few useful things for the game in here so I shouldn't have told you to GTFO. However, my anger at things still stands. COME PLAY AGAIN PD; I bet you find the new pub to be fun after a while. >.< I know you said you are refusing to until the old setting are back and what not --- but that's not going to happen, PD. The zone needs to have some of its veterans come back now. :/ You can captain a pub "farm team" when we get those going. lol. KIDDING (unless you want to) ... but seriously -- vets need to come back -- especially ones like you that are still involved with the zone to an extent by posting on forums.

If you were to see my Staff application you'd see that the ONLY reason for me applying is to help keep the zone alive and to encourage old and new players to enter the zone. So, my shithead post was not the best way to go about that with an older player thats for sure. lol.

Believe me -- I am not a staffer who is going to act like it is "My way or the Highway" all the time. This attitude that can come from staff OCCASIONALLY really needs to get kicked to the curb because its very obvious that this is detrimental to everything. That being said -- Staff also has to be allowed to have that air of authority to an extent because they are trying to keep a couple hundred people on the internet behaving within the TOS of their zone, which is almost impossible because there are always idiots who push it all the time. The problem is balancing being just a normal TW player and being a staff TW player. I've only been here on staff a few months so I haven't had to deal with the really obnoxious sides of being a staffer, but I don't look at being a TW Staffer as being any different from any other Management position.

You'll never be able to get rid of the "power trip" aspect of humanity of course, but we can do all we can as a Group (staff) to keep things level and fair for the zone and bring any staffer who is straying back to earth, or fire him/her.

EDIT: been trying to think of when I talked to you in game in the past. must have been sometime in 09 because thats when i started playing and from what you say you stopped playing in mid 2010ish. i dunno..... COME BACK :/
