also what happened to advertising this game? countless threads on this topic as well....and there is 0 communication with the players on any progress or any sort of feedback. im not belittling your idea here, but i just think that it is unnecessary at this point and shouldn't be on the list of top priorities. keep seeing these random ideas thrown around from both sides and nothing actually gets done. its sort of annoying.

Don't disagree with pretty much anything you said, however knowing absolutely nothing about advertising and/or marketing I tried like a month or 2 ago to get a ball rolling and keeping the public involved in the process and literally nobody offered to help me with anything, except fis and like 3 random suggestions, so I gave up.

I could very well be wrong (but I'm not), but I'm fairly certain staff has a total of ONE competent website coder left and he's about as active as your grandparents sex life. IMO money would be better spent fixing our current sites instead of replacing it entirely with something we don't even need. Would cost way less and take way less time, even if we had to outsource it. However, my opinion means nothing anymore... the powers that be would rather trust the big choices to be made with a small group of teenagers who all started after 2008. My advice as a player, not a staffer is to enjoy the final months of playing time we have left. Would be a shame to look back on the final months of life and realize what you could have done differently to enjoy it more.

LF is right, might as well spend that donation money on hiring a coder. Either that or have Pure_Luck offer a job recommendation on a coding forum to anyone who helps us with website and in game coding for a year. I am pretty sure having the owner of a website coding company writing you a personal rec for your resume would make some people help out.

As for the advertising.. Assuming upperstaff/24 think the game that I was just sent by the flash dev that I have been talking to is good enough, we will be advertising through a flash game before April is over, we are just hammering out the details now. The guy said he is willing to add as much TW related stuff as we want into the game.

I agree with all things said about staff stepping up/hiring/advertising. But back on a new ship topic... why not create a healer ship? Maybe you would shoot your teammates to heal a certain amount of energy or drop bombs that do a radius damage to heal your team. Could be kind of interesting and strategic.. but then again, i'm not a baser at all so my opinion isn't really important.

Some AWFUL ideas being presented in this thread...2 cram slots? Shark that reps and shoots bullets? Multiple terriers? My God.
I agree with Cres, why the hell are we talking about making a new ship for basing when we have so many other things to do? Sure, not everyone is a world class coder, but a couple of things, I'd imagine something like this would need coding? Don't we already lack coders? Why the hell would we give people who are capable in coding ANOTHER job?

For the past 4-6 months, I've pushed, and tried to help with a good elim ranking system (made a document with a bunch of factors, tried to help our current coders with contact to other coders in other zones, such as Chaos Zone), along with an individual-based TWD ranking system, where one is able to see who's best at TWD each month or two, and again, offered a document with a list of factors for each league and each ship. Shockingly enough (sarcasm implied), not ONE of these ideas have been done. Look I understand there's a lot for coders to do, but I feel like all they do is complain about how much they need to do, and as a result do nothing. If it really is this bad, then how about you use the $ you're using on the supposed new site that was supposed to launch 3 years ago/the money events you're doing on a weekly basis on fixing the current TWL site, along with hiring some decent coders? It shouldn't cost that much.

Another thing I presented was a 2v2 league structured like TWL with rosters and all that after TWL playoffs are over, and hell, even offered to run it, offering as much input as I possibly could, over the past 3 months. All I got was sorry excuses like "there's no website, thus no league", and when I suggested that it could be all bot based (which is simple coding), staffers got scared because they realized it'd be something that'd take one or two years to implement. I mean come on, seriously? What the hell is that? I respect LF for actually trying to give a damn and his weak, but valid attempt on advertising, but otherwise, nobody's doing a thing. Demo you're doing a good job with public relations, and you know how much I respect you and the job you've done, but it's time for more action, less talk. There's plenty for you to do other than 'coding', and frankly, if there isn't, then go and help out 24/diakka with their crap, because that should be priority number one right now. It's been said many times, but quite honestly, not many staffers do much.

Tl;dr: staff get your crap together, be on the same page for once. Players: sorry but don't take too much initiative because frankly your ideas, no matter how good/realistic on paper, simply will not be implemented unless you are a capable coder yourself.
