it did for a while, but the zone started about 2 years after tw mismanaged it and most of its players quit the game entirely

Imo, this game is kicking the bucket cuase we got so Many damn funking super LT's running around exploding shit. do away with the LT all together. Also, there are also alot of jerks playing, me being one of them. If i just got on and some idiot kept on saying "IRONMAN76 HAS BEEN SPOCKED!" over and over again I might want to quit too.

AND, we should make a written guide that comes with the download. This way they will be more inclined to read it. Put tips, tricks, and describe what each ship is good for clearly. We already have something like that on the site, but I felt it a little lacking.

Also, jerk bitch ass staff don't help either. LIKE WHEN YOU CLEARING STATE YOU ARE NOT TRYING TO AVOID A ?IGNORE BY SWITCHING ACCOUNTS BUT THEY STILL SILENCE YOU.

Red, sorry I haven't replied to your post sooner, but I read it and agree with most of what you say. BTW where have you been =x. Anyway, I started playing i 2000 when I was really young, and i quit for a few years here or there but came back in early 2011 and have been playing since.

The game suffers from advertising, i dont mean billboards or ads on webpages, but generally word of mouth is dying and trench wars isnt really "searchable" or able to be located outside word of mouth. I dont know the solution.

Another thing is its certainly not a secret that a lot of players abuse lag in the game. They use tools, disrupt connections and its not even subtle, its absolutely blatant. Of course, this has been going on since the late 90's and theres not a single person on TW who would claim it hasn't, but players who would perhaps be interested in tournaments, DD's, JD's and so on, are now unwilling to play in a rigged game where mod's simply condone or indirectly allow such nonsense. After all, if its been going on for 12 years since I've played, theres no way its going to stop obviously, and maybe there aren't any viable solutions i simply don't know, and i don't really care either

New players are probably overwhelmed with hardcore veterans and cant kill anything and feel frusterated and so on. I don't know the solution for that either and the time to fix it was when population was higher.

Contrary to the whining and bitching of basers 24/7, levs do not impede or harm population at all. All zones have suffered badly, and to blame levs or LT's is absurd and ignorant. Sure, perhaps the structure of LT's could be tweaked a bit like tiny bit higher cost, less holes or something, but having a huge range anti and no safes compensates really well. I think LT's are fine fyi and i RARELY see any lt's anymore anyway.

The way I see the zone, truthfully, is its absolutely swamped with lag abuse, a mod
abused power once on me personally and I didnt like it but 99% of mods are wonderful so.. i dont really care about that jerk. And getting people to know what Trench Wars is, is a really hard task.

Anyway, I don't know what will become of TW, i hope it remains strong but what will be will be. Theres a lot of blame to go around, and a lot of complacency regarding wrongdoings in the past definitely hurt this game as a whole.

As of a few days ago I quit for the most part, ill probably drop on once every few weeks for a tiny bit, but see you around red!

well I always love playing games on xbox like COD because when your ranked 1, and join a public server, you get placed with other people ranked 1, some being brand new players, and i a secretly disguised vet as a newbie, gets to have a kill streak that appeals to his ego before he's forced to play with players a lot better then him

perhaps a room that is only dedicated by start date allowing you to join

Real interesting post, Red. Personally, if newbs are quitting because the other players are beating them, that is pretty lame. And I don't think it's important to keep weak-minded newbs like that, anyway. I believe when we all started at some point, there were better players that kicked our butt. For me, personally, that motivated me to stick around and just keep playing. Because it was pretty exciting when you started to turn the tables and beat those guys that use to get the better of you in the early stages.

Just my opinion, though.

You want new players to be patient with getting better and being able to eventually compete with people who dominated them when they first started? This game is how old? No patience for a game this old for new players. I join newer squads and training squads all the time, not sure if you do, but I see these kids going 1-10 2-10 3-10 constantly and it effects their feelings towards playing another dd. You do a dd count and you get responses like, "dont feel like going 2-10 again" or "youll lose with me in." It's urgent we do a better job of mixing up the rosters with newer and veteran players to keep them interested. Winning makes everyone happy. They don't learn playing the same squad over and over competing for 2nd to last spot on ladder.

Yeah I do. I don't want to play with a player who is such a pussy, that after going 2-10, they quit and don't want to play in another match. First, as a competitor, you should want to get that bad taste out of your mouth and be quick to get another match. Secondly, more practice, you can improve on the 2-10 score. But to just throw your hands up and refuse to play again, I'm not going to bend over backwards for quitters. Old game or new game, a pussy attitude is a pussy attitude.

hah i had to reply to this lol! you will never get new people to EVER join tw divisions. i agree with that guy who said its like a huge penis measuring contest. you have the top 4 or 5 teams who are the same rehashed players dominated season after season, they never "split up" their monopoly to make things fairer, its kinda like one team in the NBA drafting every good player and the other teams are fvcked permanently lol..

secondly, tw divisions is highly political and rampant with lag cheating BS. it wouldnt be that bad if moderators werent either involved or indirectly complacent with it, that just makes it 10x worse. so the giant penis measuring contest will continue as it has been for the last 10 years, just filled with the same people and nobody new who even takes it seriously anymore.

boobies A. you never twd/twl ever any more and B. you talking about LT's not ruining games - you are literally the biggest user of LTs i've seen in TW in a long time and you are constantly ruining good basing matches going on in pub by getting together with the same few people and bombing base. I know this because you've done it multiple times when I've been playing and it is frustrating because just when pub gets some good matches with enough people playing you come in and LT and ruin any hopes of decent basing in pub and then it's noticeable that people spec/leave the game because of it. So gj on that.

On another note what rasaq/you have said about the same people constantly teaming up to win twl is correct; it is annoying because the talent pool doesnt get spread out half as much as it could but it's pretty impossible to stop this without people deciding to mix it up themselves which they wont.

Honestly though, I think there was a time when your argument was relevant, but not anymore. If we're going to be calling out players for cheating. I could easily say I am a primary witness to the fact the guy NowYouDie cheats and/or cheated. Guy used to be so bubbly in ?go javs. Then he met the "CE crowd" (revolt, vys, mythril, ria, melon etc), and guy turned into a fucking asshole and started dropping 20-10's after getting axed from Wingmasters for his 3-10's.

Melon was another example. If you think "lag cheating" is ruining the game now, you should have seen this guy. You would straight bomb him in the face directly, and he'd rush through it and facial you. Now THAT's ruining the game.

I think most of us are at a point now where we just don't give enough of a fuck to cheat. And if there are those manipulating, I can't even tell. So how can we expect a newbie to tell?
