Hockey Zone hasn't been active 24/7 for how many years now? People still log on for leagues on a regular basis.

Trench Wars is still active 24/7 as far as I know, so if we keep leagues going eventually we'll end up like HZ is now, but I think that's at least a couple years down the road.

I concur with the Facebook thing. All the sheep love their little social network, and FB app would really boost the players. BUT, we need to make a good tutorial for the noobies, so they don't quit so damn fast. Like others have said before, maybe a little practice arena they can go into, with some mobile targets, tips n hints and other such things.

I personally despise Facebook, but it may just save this game by ushering it into the 21st century. Gosh.

What hooked me was the great talks with a lot of great people over years and years, always supportive. There has always been a bunch of trolling cliquey I'm the best type attitude people, however the supportive decent cool people have become more far and few, while the same cliquey trolly negative people still remain. As there are lots more of these types playing the game now, you will have less new people wanting to stick around.

There is even less euro / asia area support during the early evening to carry the game past 200+ during the afternoon and this also carries over into the night.

There is a zone with 1000's of bots joined to its server to seem as though theres a ton of players but I haven't joined to see if it actually is a bot net or not, just an assumption.

To increase the new player ratio, start being nice to people, stop hating on people, stop talking shit to people who are new, stop using game hacks to not die, stop talking about crazy social matters in public ( abortion, racism, political, religious beliefs ) which offend people and or prevent parents from wishing to allow their children to play the game.

I've played the game off and on over 10 years, latest hiatus lasting at least a year and a half

I have always enjoyed coming back and seeing people I knew as a young teen and catching up with them, I have even showed my own kids how to play the game

I think a viral video would be great, submitting the game to a demo cd for a computer magazine would be an excellent idea to reach a different medium as well

Until then I private freq to get a decent amount of kills and enemies, including taking the base :P
