The X problem for me usually occurs in Mid-Base.

I am basing, I know the objective, and I'm not just trying yo get bounty.

All I'm saying is that the # of newbs using X's has vastly increased.

Its not bout the way the x shoots its the bit where it dosent get drained for using stealth or anything... and another part is how small it is it can fit through shots that were made for javing now.
So basically it has attracted more newbs to use them cos it is more stealth style.

i agree with everyone on the anticloaker side. and i really think that giving every ship energy draining x radar is a awful idea. pressing " end" every 2.4224 seconds just isnt fun (rather annoying), and it takes your mind off of the good stuff. I know how maken feels. I dont get high bounty often cause i dont play for it, but when at some time i do get up in the 100's i enjoy seeing how high i can get it, and often it ends with me being killed by a cloaker who i never even had a chance to fight cause i had no idea he was even there. (i call him a newb-- i cant resist, and he responds "well i killed YOU didnt I?)

and then you guys will say "well maybe u should play pubs like you're supposed to and u wont mind" and quite honestly thats a crock of shit. Pub is nothing but a friggen free for all, if it was meant for only basing then why is there such a huge and ideal for "dueling" spawn zone? who cares tho, why should we base all the time "like we are supposed to" if the fights are lopsided, if existant, and we have to deal with LT's and shit. in other words im saying "fuck you basing." im not saying basing sucks, but im saying you "hard core pub basers here" are being dumb whores and are being randomly hostile as a group (whatever that means)..

either pubs should be

1. 100% pure basing- no dueling, no levis.
2. or get rid of cloakers.

cloakers dont work in an in-bewteen environment because they kill basers and non-basers alike, with VERY few exceptions. to basers: get killed by cloakers to your heart's content. may nothing kill you but cloakers. apparently you dont give a rat's ass how youre killed. non-basers or people who vacilate between spawnzone fighting and basing dont deserve to be tooled like that.

solution: change the weasel to a ship that doesnt cloak--its as easy as that.

This is obviously a losing battle for the X so I'll just add one thing: (unless I feel like saying some more stuff later on)

When used to base they can be almost useless when countered with the right ship and they can be invaluable if your team doesn't have enough manpower to get into the base. I'm really only concerned with the X as a method of basing, and when used that way it can really spread the enemy's attention away from the 1 entrance and give your team a chance of getting in. Honestly though, they can't like take out multiple people, and they can't really massacre a base all by themselves, but they can be helpful, and I for one would be sad if they were taken away. (Of course, I know I know, only newbies use the X... Obviously i am just a newbie)

Now that is an idea I've been thinking on for a long time but there are some things I can't really figure out.

Asumption: ships 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 are neccessary for basing and should not be changed (personally I think the warbird should be weaker but that would never be accepted) and 4, 6, 7 are practically useless for basing.

What to do?? It's hard to come up with a new kind of ship, there are already the sniper, grenadier, machine-gunner and transport (as someone pointed out in some other thread). So why not make an alternative to these ships?

Ex. the lancaster could be a different kind of what now is a terrier, a ship that can be attached to. Different settings would make the ship good for different kinds of games. So then a squad could choose if they want a fast, voulnerable, warping and bursting red terrier of a slower "tank", with a repel or a 5-piece burst or a small temporary brick or whatever.

So practically there would be:
1)traditional ships: 1,2,3,5,8
and 2) alternative ships: 4 "replacing" maybe warbird (how about bouncing bullet), 6 "replacing" maybe the shark (more repels no mines?) and lanc "replacing" terrier.

This would provide more delicate tactics and what might, imo, be a good step for TWBL. Of course these setting that I'm telling as an example are not good and the settings would need thourough testing.

bloodzombie once said that the lancbullets shouldn't all stop when one hits someone, that would make the lanc a good basingship I bet.
Maybe instead of ugly yellow bullets then give it the ability to shoot 2 or 3 burts of red bullets (read: the multifire it has now, not burst as the ter has )with bit more speed.
Or give it blue bullets.

The Levi, is nothing but a big cannon that would work if base was 10 times bigger and 5 times the amount of players, it just doesn't fit into this base. Maybe we can use another bullet/bomb combination.

The weasel is a spy or James Bond. I don't understand why it isn't tested in ?go base yet. The small version is harder to hit and it might kill terrier a few times. I wonder if it's really worth trading any ship for it. Maybe give it more repels and its worth trading one shark.

I believe it's not so hard to test some settings in a basegame, games are practicly running 24 hours a day. The only question is if changes are really needed or wanted by the people in charge.

Jeansi's idea is great. How about arena for ppl willing to test out new settings ?go testbase or something. If it works our well could aswell use some of the new settings in next season's TWLB.

Nah the best way to test those things is to shove it up the players. Just do it in base, surprise them with it.
Some people totally freak out when you tell them you are going to change things.
