I don't like the big X, at least with stealth, it was still a viable ship to play in mid. Now, this ship is useless for basing. What was wrong with the small x? That ship was fun. Being able to sneak into base and either take out the terr or lev inside, or even cap the flag. It definitely helped the team. Now this ship is useless.

And you guys know I exclusively played the weasel, but stopped. Now I'm playing the levi because it still allows for a good challenge and trolling the base with the bombs.

The changes certainly weeded me out but I don't think anyone would accuse me of being a "lame ass". Make it small, cloak, stealth with energy drain and LIMITED fire power and I bet a lot of people would play it. It would be FUN! I couldn't care less about kills, I would much rather harass an distract the other team. Make these changes and you will eliminate the "lame ass" X players but add another interesting element to the game. Make it so....

The changes to the weasel make it more skill oriented, and in all truthfulness it is alot harder to stay alive and get kills in the X than most ships in pub. (aside from the shark)

Any half witted player should generally be in the habit of checking the radar once in a while. And since they are big they are much more easy to hit and people need to stop bitching about being "lamed" by the X since at this point they are just telling everyone how much of a noob they really are for not glancing at radar once in a while.

The sound of getting a green has to be changed to a short electronic syntheizer sound rather than a nose sniffing mucus.

You're missing the point of the levi still having the strongest bomb in the game, and hitting any ship that is at full energy 2x with the bullets -unless there's a break between- gets everything killed.
There is in fact a lot of people who prefer L2 over L3 bullets because L2 costs less energy and you can sometimes 1 hit kill with these bullets keeping more than half the energy instead of dying to a L1 bullet after that, hence it's not really even a downgrade... If you get what I mean. Levi now has 3 !buyable items (everywhere) and it starts with all of them which actually leaves enough defense and still the strongest bomb with EMP even. Can't have everything.

There is no reason why both settings can be used alternating by weeks. The new Levi that has a roman candle duct tape to the front can beat you well as the master pilot works with what he or she has.

I think giving the weasel L1 red bullets would entirely ruin it, because if it shoots once, the whole ninja effect would be gone making the cloak ability entirely useless - and when the prey is on full energy, you will need around 3 bullets hitting at minimum to kill it. What might be a nice thought if it would get L2 yellow bullets (for the small X). That would be quite interesting, but then again - same effect as above: once it shoots, its cover is gone. Taking blue L3 bullets away from the X is probably not a good idea.
L2 bullets would be fine.. as for losing its cover when it shoots I think that would set up some interesting confrontations before it can cloak/stealth again! Your interpretation of the role of the weasel is certainly 1, however I don't care to play it that way much... I prefer to harass base through the small ports, needling away, being a pain.. This way of playing can certainly help team basing play as what will often happen is that I can distract the enemy to the point of them leaving base to come after me or turning their backs to the main entry.

I know I like it because it matches my style of play, but most people in pub seem to be saying it is a lame ship now.(from whom iv'e talked to.) I was thinking maybe add stealth that uses energy to make it a bit more playable for basers and less-skills players.

In terms of ship use, I noticed alot more levs around, but there seems to be less of the X.

I agree 100% with fis on the L3 bullet issue. The X is rather weak without the element of surprise, and it hard to surprise somebody while peppering away at them with L1 bullets.

I also agree with ornje, the time the EMP affects recharge should be shortened a bit.

    Amen.

Spock, glad you like it, thanks for sharing the thoughts.

Eph, I've been playing pub a couple hours today and yesterday. I think it's hard to measure that, but yeah it would be nice to keep track of actively playing population in pub so that we have something to compare. And yeah, I too have noticed that occasionally there were lots of levs on the teams, but even though the games were really intense and certainly people were basing. It didn't look to me as if the levs were killing the game, absolutely not. (Gotta say that the teams were around from 7 vs 7 to around 13 vs 13 at the time I played, not really too crowded and not dead). I'm also seeing weasels, in both spawn and base. People seem to not watch the radar and weasel is strong enough to do some impact on the game, even if it's not really huge. That's at least what I noticed when I played. (So the purpose of integrating levis into basing seems to work, because people play it even though its former main strength got weakened by a lot, while -from my point of view- it's not ruining games anymore.)

Ill say it again, make the weasel small and give it stealth with fast energy drain when engaged so that it has a chance of getting away from x hunters. Give it weak bullets, spider bullets? so that it is not so instantly deadly. It can help base by harassing and being a diversion from main entrance. For me that was the best part of the small x, being a royal pain in the ass! A lot of fun, its a game right?
