What'd you do on staff again? Scare some newbies away with PM essays before leaving and retiring to writing them on the forums instead?

I just noticed lots of you guys are the reason why TW died.
All your whining and crying is killing/ killed the game.
Your blaming the gameplay in pub/twd and staff for it, but the real reason is
your acting like little children and crying for every little thing like a little bitch.
All the whining influences other players to cry just as hard.
Yes also the high graphic modern games were a reason but,
all the negativity brought TW even faster to fall.
Am just saying stop acting like little children and bring more positivity to the game
this way TW could come out of the downward spiral it is in.

    Sorry for the bad english
It's oversimplified, but really he's right. The overarching negativity and divide between players and staff may not have killed the game, but it hasn't helped it any. Can't we all just get along before the end? The game is old, and doesn't do a good job at grabbing hold of new players for several reasons, no matter how much we spam them with objons, green messages, and sounds. This is why the game is dying.

Just play the game and be happy. After all, it's not all that serious.

Staff should have never, ever been organized the way it was after 1999. It is based upon ‘powers’ (which attracted the wrong type of people for the wrong reasons) and a complete diffusion of responsibilities (which gave everyone an ‘out’ to pass the buck). Development was a cluster fuck with virtually no control over multiple changes being made on the production server.

Most surely there have been staffers and developers who really worked hard to help but they were misguided. They should have recognized their time would have been better spent on changing staff structure and not dicking around with the little bottom up things like ships, maps, and kill-athons. And certainly many of the players didn’t help the zone.

But in my book the buck stops with those in charge and their failures. They can whine about how hard it was but they cannot say they were not given input on how (and what) needed to change for years and years. They consistently took the easier path and the easier decisions (like ship changes) instead of taking a top down approach and fixing the zone’s primary issue. The reason is obvious, being a zone leader meant that you were popular. If anyone had made the hard decisions they would not have been very popular; but this is what would have had to happen if the zone were to survive long term.

I'd say the biggest reason for the huge decline was the fact that TW accepted thousands of dollars of donation money and did absolutely nothing productive with it. If you're going to accept donations to improve the zone you better actually do something...this never happened and now TW is sitting on thousands of dollars and still "working on a website." 1. We don't need a fkn website the website served its purpose fine 2. by the time you're done in 2 years the zone will probably have 15 active players.

Also I was staff about 3 years ago or so and it was a terrible experience. Upper staff are total losers who love to power trip. I was honestly getting nagged at by about 10 upperstaff members the second I joined staff, just an awful/funny experience.

TLDR: bad staff / donation money scam

TW was bound to die eventually, nothing lasts forever, but this is what sped up the process

    1) staff trying to revive it
    2) depressed emo losers crying about the game being dead
    3) stupid "i quit" threads
    4) o4 incident
    5) 90% of staff having no social skills
    6) pub bucks and the 10000000 changes to pub ((when you try to please everybody, ur gonna piss a few ppl off) and when you try to please the few ppl you pissed off you piss off everybody))
    7) high percentage of queers who currently play ex) wiibimbo, children, pussies who dont accept twd games when they have enough, squad caps who cant handle being cap, staff that power trips, and most importantly, players with too many girly emotions
    8) not enough trash talk nowadays, its seems so one-sided now its just bullying, its not fun being a bully

TLDR: Blame rests in incompetent staff and faggy players
