stepping down from sysop

I suppose this is about as good time as any to make this thread and make it official to the players.

I will be stepping down from my position as the Head System Operator on November 25th.

I had accepted this position under the condition that it would be temporary, and after months of inactivity a part of me feels like I overstayed my welcome. Although to be fair I only stuck around this due to several unforeseen events happening one after another that kept me busy and involved for several months.

I would like to take the time to personally apologize the zone for not living up to the expectations that some players might have had, and while a lot of behind-the-scenes things were halting the progress of some projects and even limiting my power, the undeniable truth is that I should and could have accomplished more in this position. We did accomplish quite a in a short span of time, but not everything went as planned and for that, I am sorry.

Additionally I would like to thank all the players who have supported staff as a whole, and me as well, in the past year. We have had a bumpy ride at times, but I can assure you that the future of staff is looking brighter than ever with some of the changes we have made this year to the organization. There is still a lot of work to be done, but when there is a will there is a way. You don't have to take my word on it, but I do have my utmost faith in the future of our staff and zone.

As for the reason, our zone deserves someone better than me. We don't know who that someone is going to be, but it shouldn't be hard to step into my small shoes that I am leaving behind a few days after the conclusion of our premier league. In my opinion there is no point to sit on a position such as this one for no reason, and that especially holds true when one does not have the time or motivation to push the zone forward. I will still continue to play this game on-and-off as a player, and might return to help the league scene at a later date if the opportunity ever arises.

Once again, thank you all who supported me and staff for the past year, and sorry everyone whom we have let down.. and, uh, I suppose "you are welcome" is probably needed for those who hate me with burning passion.

I can honestly say Turban. You were a good guy and a good staffer but were way too much of a pussy to handle the zone the way it needed to be handled. You still took instruction from the previous Sysops on nearly all decisions or were afraid for some reason to go against them even though they were largely responsible for the shape that the zone is in. There is a time to be nice and congenial and then there is a time to man up, grow a pair and TELL everyone this is YOUR zone now and they are going to follow YOUR DIRECTION for the zone. But I guess nobody is going to say the truth besides me and instead offer fake condolences or terrible imitations of trollers of yore. But I will be honest with you man, thats the way it is.

Tbh what direction u thinking of because this game can't be improved with zero coders and this community against all change. Atm being a systop is just merely a title... Even if he stood up to the other systops...(let's be realistic) Game would remain with no increase in population. To get this game back on track would mean big pub changes that the systops would refuse to do because they are scared to mess with tradition and lose old players... Trench wars is exactly like a museum- game has never really changed for 2 decades\ staff want to preserve this and people log in to re-live the moments they had on this game years ago when the zone was thriving.

Steam was a nice attempt but pub kills new players...there is no competition for them and no incentive to play.

Turban I dont no much about ur efforts outside of twl but it was clear u put in tremendous effort in twl (u allowed more squads to play) and kept people informed so ty for that.

Exactly what has he done? It might be all behind-the-scenes stuff, so can anyone explain? All I know is that the Weasel now has really stupid settings and the Shark doesn't always get x-radar. Who is to blame for that?
